It is possible to create human characters in the program. You can see some examples in the gallery on the Crocotile website: http://www.crocotile3d.com/gallery/
Crocotile excels at environments and things that require repeatable elements like tiles, but it can also be used to make more organic things that have no repeating elements. There are some video demonstrations on the crocotile youtube channel, and videos related to handling UVs which would be worth watching if you are planning to make human characters.
I plan to make a text-based guide on modeling a human character soon, aimed for beginners. I'll probably start on it after I finished the guide I am currently working on.
I would suggest downloading the demo and trying it out: https://prominent.itch.io/crocotile3d
Btw, There's also a discord server you can join if you need any help with anything, plus the documentation: http://crocotile3d.com/howto.html
Hope this helps!
