I really liked This Bed We Made, it's relax, no combat, no jumpscare, just intrigue, mystery, investigation and light detective gameplay, third-person and a good little emotional story, and it's short.

Please drop other games like this. It can be first person and longer tho.
I just bought The Painscreek Killings and INFRA, so far so good.

Asking that you will probably get a few Frogwares' Sherlock Holmes recommendations and I'll agree with most of them, the "mind palace" feature common to all of them may gamify and 'handhold' too much of the deduction process to my taste, but what I like about the games is that there are no dangers and no rush except for during dialogues.

My favorites, in terms of gradually intensifying intrigue, are The Awakened (I only played the recent remake) and Crimes and Punishment. I only started The Devil's Daughter and I really liked the Greenhouse part.

Now Sherlock Holmes is not my favorite franchise, it's just that it's the titles that keep coming up as recommendation for investigation games.

Twelve Minutes.

Its not necessarily an investigation game, but This Bed We Made reminded me a lot of Twelve Minutes for whatever reason.

Good recommendations, and reminder for me since I have almost them all. Testament I really liked.

It looks like a very good title, but I don't like the idea of having a timer in a video game. Thanks for suggestion, maybe I'll be in this mood someday :P
Thank you for this!
I can recommend Twelve Minutes being similar--if you like the mystery element then the newer Sherlock Holmes (Chapter One, and the Awakened) or LA Noire might be right up your alley--or even something a little bit more left field like Disco Elysium. While still in the mystery genre, if you like movie-like experiences with less game-play then you can consider Heavy Rain or Detroit Beyond Human. Otherwise, you may potentially like some of the Life is Strange games (not really mystery, but has strong storytelling elements).

Just bought Detroit Become Human, it's awesome. Life is strange is in my top games of all time. Just started Alfred Hitchcock – Vertigo, not bad, but artstyle and dialogue syncing is cringe. God This bed we made was good :steamhappy:

To everyone, don't hesitate to necro this thread with suggestions, thanks!

Tacoma and Life Is Strange are similar, plus the Nancy Drew series from HER Interactive (the older games, not the latest one, which is hot garbage).
It reminded me a lot of the old Nancy Drew games, and Gone Home.
Ok nice, there are 32 Nancy Drew games, not including the last one as suggested (Midnight in Salem). So which one do I buy lol
Nancy Drew's fanbase is kind of hardcore, even now. I haven't played them myself, but I'd trust this survey I found: https://sassydetective.com/nd-survey-results

Wow nice find, thanks!
The last Syberia was good so I add it here. No need to play the first ones.

Au contraire, play Syberia 1 and 2, don't bother with 3, and 4 (World Before) is just average...

Syberia 1 and 2 are excellent games, indeed! Kudos to new players who can appreciate these classics, even 23 years later! I found Syberia 4 quite a satisfying experience as well, meeting many of the criteria I mentioned in my original post.
