[bug] protecting eugene achievement

anyone else struggling to get this one? i have them all except this one. in bernard's office i cleaned up the puddle, tossed the note, and closed the window, ive tried having wendy fired, i tried having no one fired and everytime i go to eavesdrop while candle hunting, the achievement doesnt pop like it does when getting eugene fired. is this a bug or am i just missing something

I'm having the exact same problem. Got them all except this one and it's driving me nuts. It sounds like you even tried it with erasing the lipstick message and the note on the office window (for the Status Quo track) and it still didn't make any difference, because that was the only idea I had left was to try it that way, because whenever I got Wendy fired, Eugene would just complain that the office is cold and he can't find Eugene anywhere. So he doesn't get fired, but the game doesn't seem to recognize that as you "saving his job."

Anyone who's gotten this achievement, do you remember what the dialogue entailed? The dialogue I keep getting clearly indicates that Eugene is nowhere to be found, and that his office is freezing (even though I closed the window, mopped up the floor, and threw away Eugene's note). Is there a different dialogue that triggers the achievement? Because that would possibly provide some clues as to what is missing here.

I doubt the achievement is significantly bugged because it says something like 27% of players have it, which sounds about right for normal gameplay.

@epsilon828 yeah i did try wiping the lipstick off too :/ no matter what i try he complains about it being cold as well and that they cant find eugene. even asked the 100% guide creator and they didnt seem to know what the issue is too. i just have to believe its a bug at this point for some players

Ironically, I got this achievement by leaving everything as it was except that I cleaned up the puddle. I can't remember the dialogue, but I think it was that he thought he asked Eugene to fix this, and he finds the piece of paper. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yeah, this has to be bugged. I just started a new game from scratch, and chose Beth as the acolyte this time, and did the Status Quo line, (before I had Andrew and got Wendy fired) and it still did the same thing. Hopefully the devs take notice and fix it soon.

We just updated the game to version 1.0.5.2. If you download the update, you should now be able to trigger the achievement. Please tell me here if you're still having problems with it!

What about PlayStation 5? This trophy is bugged there too and I don’t see a new version.

Yeah, unlike Steam, Playstation takes a moment to approve our patches... Hopefully it will be updated tomorrow at the latest!

Still not on PS5. Any updates? This last trophy is nagging at me 😊.

So sorry about the delay! Sadly, we had to revert the last PS5 patch because it caused the game to freeze during the deciphering puzzles. We're hard at work trying to fix the problem so that we can push a new patch that fixes the achievement AND the freeze bug!

Hi, I've came here because of the bug and I was glad to see there was effectively a bug with the achievement. Unfortunately, today again, I have the same problem explain by Epsilon and I'm a PS5 player. It's my last achievement and it drive me crazy xD.

I saw there was around 10% of players who had it. I am the only one today with this problem, or other PS5 players reported it recently ?

There might be a bug with the Status Quo achievement. I erased the message but it didn't trigger. Maybe I had to throw the note away too.
