Sophie wants to go to the break room to get her keys. She won't use the elevator because she says:

"Maybe I shouldn't wander around with my pockets full. Is there any place I can put this stuff down"?

Is the interface telling me that the items in her pocket are two cups that appear at the top of the screen?

I can't locate any place that she can empty her pockets and truly I don't know precisely what is in her pockets either.

You can dump the dirty cups to the cart in the hallway, it's in the middle layer of the cart.
I met same trouble,I took too much NEW towels before in the room,and can't dump them to use elevator. 5th all the room's towels were be replaced.
Hope someone can help me or fix it.

Do you still have dirty towels in your inventory? Fresh towels never stopped me from using the elevator.

You probably need to dump the dirty towels in the maid's cart. I also never had issues going to different floors with clean towels.

Yes, it is the Two cups you are "holding". Game doesn't really explain that mechanic, i found it by clicking or hoovering on everything.

Thanks for your experience,I found the problem.
I should check the room next the vent to found the screwdriver before use elevator.then it's work!

Did you ever figure this out? I have two towels in my inventory and I can’t take the elevator and all the towels have already been added to the rooms! AHHHH
