I've just moved this discussion so our support team can take a look for you. Could you let us know what controller you're using? Do you also have any controller software installed that could disable it?
It lets you configure the deadzone for your right stick across ALL Steam games, so it would help you with everything, not just Overcooked. While your controller is connected, in the Steam client in the top left click on Steam > Settings then click Controller, then click General Controller Settings.
A new window will appear and at the bottom under "Detected Controllers" you should see you controller named there. Click it and then click the button "Calibrate". You should now see a visual representation of your analog sticks, presumably you will see just how crazy the right stick is. In the options below you can either enlarge the right stick deadzone so it covers all of the drifting area or click "Start Full Auto Calibration" to go through a guide to do it for you.
Hopefully if that has gone well than the drifting of that stick will no longer be detected in games as it is within the dead zone.
However if the drifting is so severe that doesn't fix it, there is also a way to disable your right stick completely through Steam but that is a bit more complicated, I would try the deadzone fix first.
I've already done the calibration through steam, put the deadzone to max.
Unfortunately it doesn't change anything, the right stick still has drift upward.
I'll get a new controller soon, but can't at the moment.
I'm really disappointed there isn't a "classic" control scheme in the game where the right stick would be disabled as it is just useless, or just a more complete binding menu like in a lot of games.
I guess I just can't play (I bought it yesterday), it's frustrating because once again, the right stick has no use for me.
Now head to Overcooked: All You Can Eat in you Steam library look underneath the PLAY button to see the list of options such as Store / Community Hub, etc. At the end is an option labelled Controller Layout, click this to bring up the controller config screen for this game.
By default it should just be the layout for a normal Xbox gamepad (If not at the bottom click Browse Configs, then Templates, then the Gamepad template, then Apply Configuration).
Now to disable the right stick, simply click the box linked to the right stick called "Joystick Move" and then click the dropdown box under "Style of Input" and set it to "None". Go back and click Done and now when you launch Overcooked it should use this layout with the right stick disabled.
If this works then you should be able to do the same thing for any game on Steam with this joypad (maybe save the layout with the disabled right stick as a template so you can set it quickly for each game).
I'd still like better controller settings in the game, to enable/disable buttons and to choose bindings (for instance I don't like the B button to dash).
