cannot enter levels or make a save
hi! i downloaded the game, it was fine. when it opened for the first time it got stuck on the screen before the menu, but after restarting it worked fine. i played through the overcooked 1 tutorial fine on singleplayer, but everything after that got broken. no matter if im on a controller or the keyboard (im playing on a laptop, overcooked 2 downloaded on its own works fine), i cannot get into any levels or the castle. i talked to the king, unlocked the first level, but i cant get into it. i thought it might be because i changed to multiplayer and there were two controllers connected (even tho it worked fine on the other game), but it didnt help.

after 20 minutes of fighting, exiting and re-entering the game, changing multi/single player and keyboard/controller and even re-installing the game was still broken. i gave up and wanted to start an OC2 game, but when i chose and clicked the save file the whole game froze. i exited and tried again with OC2, again, as soon as i clicked into the file the game froze. i tried playing extra trimmings, same issue. even when i tried to delete the OC1 file it froze the game again, so i gave up.

i really dont want to refund the game and just buy dlcs for OC2 and i couldnt find anyone with either problems so im reaching out here :]

Greetings wormis,

Sorry to hear that this is happening - would it be possible to see your system information so that we can try to help? To do this:
  1. Hold down the Windows Key and press R, the Run dialogue should appear > Type dxdiag in the available text field > Click OK
  2. Click Save All Information > Save the file DxDiag.txt to your Desktop so it is easy to find
  3. Open the .txt file, copy all the contents > Paste all the contents to a free text hosting service such as http://justpaste.it, http://textuploader.com or http://freetexthost.com
  4. Copy the link to your post

Hey wormis,

Thank you for sharing this with us.

Let's check that your AMD drivers are up to date:
  1. Go to http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/auto_detect.aspx
  2. Install ‘AMD Driver Autodetect’ application.
  3. Select yes on to allow the application to run if the prompt appears.
  4. Select ‘Download Now’ and follow the steps to install the driver.
  5. Restart your computer, if necessary after the installation of drivers.
We also see some other game and system issues, so to reveal any possible issues with your Windows system, we would like to recommend that you please attempt the following actions:
  1. Open the Windows Start Menu
  2. Type “cmd”
  3. Right-click on Command Prompt > Run as administrator
  4. Type “sfc /scannow” without the quotes
  5. Press Enter
  6. If the process has revealed/resolved any issues, please attempt to run the game again
We hope this helps!

Regards,

Hey wormis,

Thanks for getting back to us.

Let's try to check your game installation to make sure that there are no corrupted files causing the problem. To do this:
  1. Right-click on the game in your Steam Library
  2. Choose Properties
  3. Switch to the Local Files tab and press Verify integrity of game files...
Then attempt to run the game to see if the issue is resolved.

Also, we'd suggest trying to run the game as an administrator:
  1. Right-click the game in your Steam Library.
  2. Go to Properties then the Local Files tab.
  3. Click Browse Local Files.
  4. Locate the game executable (the application).
  5. Right-click it and go to Properties.
  6. Click the Compatibility tab.
  7. Check the Run this program as an administrator box.

If neither of these things help, could you shoot us over an up-to-date DxDiag please?
  1. Hold down the Windows Key and press R
  2. The Run dialog should appear. Type dxdiag in the available text field.
  3. Click OK
  4. Click Save All Information
  5. Set the Save as type to Text File (*.txt)
  6. Save the file DxDiag.txt to your Desktop so it is easy to find.
  7. Open the .txt file, copy all the contents > Paste all the contents to a free text hosting service such as http://pastebin.com/
  8. Copy the link to your post and paste in your reply

Get back to us when you can.

Regards,
