Thanks for getting in touch with us.
Are you able to use both if you have a keyboard input as well? Can you also try without a keyboard plugged in?
Can you try when not using the steam link?
Do both controllers work when fully loaded into other games?
Do they work correctly when just running through a computer without the other devices?
Please make sure you have the following settings:

In overcooked I am not able to use second controller whether I have keyboard linked in or not.
I tried when not using the steam link and indeed there is a problem there too.
Controllers fully work when loaded into other games.
I think they work correctly when just running through the computer. Touchpad on dualsense works as a mouse, but I don't have good way of finding if other controller works. It definitely works inside big picture mod.
I made sure I have all 3 of the controller settings turned on.
Problem still persists.
Strangely, I tried launching game without a keyboard plugged in (as per your advice), and subsequently non of my controllers worked. Even after reconnecting keyboard I had to launch the game again, so that one can be detected.
I also tried other generic controller (esperanza or smth) with dualsense and the effects were the same.
Update:
sadly, connecting second keyboard doesn't enable the second controller. It was worth the try tho
Controllers works in other game and steam big picture, but only one is detected in AYCE. I'm not using steam link, although if I do (to a phone with touch controller) it does work, but the game then won't recognize the controllers at all. I had to restart the game so that one can be detected.
I had to workaround this issue by disabling the controllers altogether in steam and mapping the controller buttons to keyboard so we can play the game in split keyboard mode. Really clunky, but at least it works.
I play this game on linux using proton 6.3 and it works perfectly except for this issue. I hope proton is not the cause of this and I hope this will be fixed ASAP.
Thanks for that information!
Kris Aphalon -
What platform are you on? Windows, Mac, Linux, etc?
Can you use a traditional PC at all rather than the Raspberry Pi?

Are you using anything else such as the Raspberry Pi or just your PC?

I can't really use traditional PC rather than Rasberry Pi, because it will defeat the point (since I wanted to play on my TV, which is quite a long way from my PC)
However, all tests I did in second post were on real PC, without remote play. I guess that means that the game just doesn't work with proton and multiple controllers? Quite strange, as with other games from Team17 there was no problem.
Kris Aphalon, I don't quite understand your words. Did you manage to get multiple controller working using windows?
No, I don't have Windows operating system installed in my house. As PC I meant my desktop computer which runs Linux. I don't have a way of testing it on Windows.
Ah I see.
We've passed this across to the team for further investigation.
Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause in the meantime.

It's been reported by someone on protondb, but since i played overcooked 1 and 2 I didn't expect this to be an issue. https://www.protondb.com/app/1243830
I should also mention this bug wasn't there 4 months ago, when reports were positive on proton.
It's good that Linux native app is supported! Just need to fix the controller issue. Not sure what unity plugin you're using, i'm using unity's new input system, and in the past used one of the store ones for controller support.
Just to be clear, first controller works (but not with proton, proton just hangs it atm), so on native linux app. Second controller doesn't work. If I disconnect and reconnect, it connects the first controller connected only, and not the second one on the controller stack. A keyboard however does work as the second player.
So my girlfriend leaves in 5 days to visit her family for a few months, and I was really hoping this game would work. There was only 5 new levels... but it's been a while since overcooked 2 had new content ^^ Also wanted to replay the first games levels for nostalgia ^
Controller is recognized via steam as xbox360 controller and has never had any issues with other games (including overcooked 2, which worked perfectly)
OS: Windows 10 (20H2 / 19042.1110)
Controller: Xbox360 + wireless receiver (native windows drivers, detected as xbox360 controllers)
Sorry to hear you're having this issue.
Can you please do the following:
- Unplug the controller
- Launch the Steam client and click the controller icon at the top right to enter Big Picture Mode
- Go to Settings > Controller Settings and make sure that "Playstation/Xbox/Generic Configuration Support" are all toggled on.
- Then simply plug your controller and retest the game

After restart, overcooked worked as usual (I normally have to restart my computer every time to play). After closing steam, turning off and back on my controller, re-opening steam, the game no longer recognizes my controller despite steam seeing it in big picture mode w/ xbox config support.
