Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
You can try the following steps:
- Unplug the controller
- Launch the Steam client and click the controller icon at the top right to enter Big Picture Mode
- Go to Settings > Controller Settings and make sure that "Playstation/Xbox/Generic Configuration Support" are all toggled on.
- Then simply plug your controller and retest the game

I have been playing Witchtastic which is great, works with 4 four controllers and really well done.
We're sorry to hear you're having this issue.
Can you please also try using big picture mode and test whether the issue continues?
Can you please also follow the steps below:
- Unplug the controller

- Then simply plug your controller and retest the game

I have 2 xbox 360 controllers connected wirelessly through a USB dongle and 1 xbox one controller connected by USB.
I can get all of them to work one at a time, but I can't get more than one of them to work at the same time. They all work at the same time in other games.
