So... Figured out how to 'make' wood, created a crafting table, put the table down... Now what?

Wasted pretty much the entire first day trying to get the basics down, which meant I ended up exhausted and couldn't run, and ended up murdered almost immediately after nightfall because I have no idea what I'm doing -- With no in-game instructions, unintuitive mechanics, and little to no documentation elsewhere, it's hard to figure out what to do.

For instance, I only knew how to make wood by finding a mention of it in another post in the discussions. But I can't figure out how to actually use the crafting bench.

yea, that wood mechanic is really stupid lol... give us a crafting recipie for it, like timber+axe = wood and a bit of damage on the axe. to use the bench,, just right click it, you'll get a 3x3 crafting grid and more recipies
