I think people just generally don’t use their mics in modern games at all tbh. Most people are in discord calls with their friends, just chilling or whatever.

No one is encouraged to use their mics, it's automatically set off, there's no pregame or postgame banter, no embedded friend service/support for steam players, no ability to postgame team-up. It was dead on arrival in that aspect. Combined with frustrating matchmaking issues, and an already aggressive audience, it makes for an especially toxic and anti-friendly environment.

343 made the great idea to turn them off because of bulling. Gear 5 did the same thing saying it keeps people safe

^nah, most of the playerbase is on xbox. That's why it takes like 3 seconds to matchmake a game in any relevant playlist.

Only reason I don't use mine is because the text/voice in this game doesn't seem to work at all - I can't text in matches, my Mic won't come on, nobody is talking, and it's been like this since I bought the game at launch

People don't really bother with in-game VC nowadays its easier to just get everyone you want to play with on discord.
