Noticing Massive FPS Stuttery on Nvidia Drivers 552.44
Not sure if anyone who is using an Nvidia Graphics Card right now but since this driver 552.44 got released, I've been seeing Halo getting random massive FPS Stutter where its happening randomly in an alarming rate. Not sure if anyone was noticing it like i have but i think the new drivers are having a problem with Halo. Anyone else besides me noticing something wrong?

I've been using an RTX 4070 12GB which runs on max settings with ease in case if anyone was wondering.

Did you try reverting back to an old driver?

Yeah, I've been noticing the same thing since installing this driver version. I'm on a 3060 TI. Never experienced this before in all my time playing this game. Going to revert back to 552.22.

I'm also using an RTX 4070 and I'm using the previous driver version for it with no problems. I think you're probably right about the driver version being the issue. Try rolling back to the previous release and let me know if that works.

I appreciate the warning though. I guess I won't be updating my driver. Haha

I have the same RTX 4070 card and i'm running the driver without issue.
Interesting. I will try updating my driver later and I'll let you know if I experience any difference in performance.

After updating my driver, I found that there was a noticeable dip in FPS from before. I was averaging around 165fps before, but after the update, I was getting just 120. It's possible that I made a mistake somewhere, but I will be rolling back my driver to try and fix the issue.

Yeah same here I dont have a beefy card like most here but my 2080TI handles it perfectly but this last update getting massive fps drops randomly in some games.

That's exactly what I did and yeah there was no stuttering when i reverted back to the 552.22 drivers

Good luck to you. I would have suggested to delete the cache and verify integrity of game files before going through the entire roll back process.

I did that at first and there was very little difference it did till i did a roll back on the drivers.

Definitely going to wait till a new driver update comes along and hopefully that will address the issues.

Idk if ya'll checked the PCMR subreddit today, but there was a big post about the 552.44 drivers stuttering, probably best to hold off for a bit (and contact Nvidia)

Appreciate the heads up on that. ill have to check it out. I know the previous drivers are working just fine with zero stutter.

Here's what I can say about this. If anyone is planning on using driver 552.44. Test it out on any of the modes you generally play in and keep an eye out for FPS stutter. Thank god we have an FPS display option in the game because that really does help :) If you noticed some odd stutters and all and you know your PC can handle it with extreme ease, I would just roll back the drivers till an update presents itself.

I just submitted the issue to Nvidia along with a link to this discussion. Hopefully this'll be resolved soon.

Hey, I thought I'd just let everyone know that the latest Nvidia graphics update (version 555.85) completely fixed the fps loss issue for me.

Somtimes people do "clean install" on their graphics updates and it restores power saving / default features over whatever they had configured, which should be performance settings.

also, make sure you have "High Performance" or "Ultimate Performance" power plan activated in windows.
Not great advice to give anymore as alot of people have AMD cpu's now which work better in balanced mode. There are also a new power mode in UWP which works differently from the control panel setting.
