mod tools in future or are we stuck with forge ?
imagine if they did with infinite what they did with mcc and released official mod tools and complete tag package.

forge can only get you so far and is online only. i prefer mod tools that you can use offline.

probably wishful thinking but it would be awesome if it happened.

I hope that Halo games continue to get support and more tools, but from what I can see, probably not. Most of the "Halo Studios" team is made up of 343 and former Microsoft leadership. The contractors actually doing the development work who probably care the most don't actually have power to steer the ship in the right direction.
i think it sucks they are moving to UE because modding is hard on those games. many really old UE games came with or got as downloads full map editors and tools.
newer games aren't designed for modding.

it's bad enough trying to unpack modern UE games because then you have a bunch of assets you can't modify easily.

many are encrypted and need an AES key. plus they use the new .utoc .ucas files which make it hard to unpack.

there's only like a couple tools out there that can edit asset files but they very basic editors with zero documentation and most files can't be fiddled with.

sure UE4+ games look pretty, but they all suffer from stuttering on pc and are not mod friendly.

unless we get mod tools with UE halo games it's going to be a pain.
