It depends on what match type it was, and what they were doing. I've been in matches where people repeatedly drop the oddball off the edge or juggle it to slow down the match because they think it's fun. No clue what this guy did, so it's entirely possible it's a ban for something else, like you suggested.

There was a thing in the MCC a few years ago of people hijacking the grifball playlist to prevent people playing the actual game type.

i queued rumble pit for the dumb challenges, and i didnt interrupt the game by killing teammates and hiding the ball in a corner, that games lasted like 5 minutes anyways, so who exactly is suffering here?

i never dodged that? i said multiple times that i crouch walked around the map tea bagging to show friendly, other people tea bagged back and walk away instead of killing me, i was friendly

If this is true I hope you get unbanned for being friendly as I think banning someone for being friendly to everyone is to much of a serious punishment.

Maybe the game thought you were teaming with other players in Rumble Pit. It's probably what happened.

New idea: it's AFK prevention.
Some people AFK in matches with something sending WASD inputs into the game to keep them moving. Or wiggling a controller around while watching a movie.

So the game is suspending people who don't engage with the match at all, in order to boot these idlers out of the playlist.

The ban was only a couple of minutes long right?

thats fair, i assume the ban was short since i hadnt been banned prior, i didnt really intend to "throw" it was just 2 matches of messing around to get rumble pit over with so i can play something i wanted like swat
