The GPU driver and Steam overlay is off and the game won't start. Discord also has an overlay feature. The go a live button appears in the upper left corner of the screen. I turned off the Discord app and that doesn't help either. I turned all the overlay settings back on. Once I got the game running and it ran at ultra settings at 59 fps for three hours. I closed the game and the same thing next time. The game won't start. I can't get to the login menu because the game crashes. After the login menu, the game works if the startup steps work up to the login menu.
The NAT router is set according to this instruction: https://portforward.com/halo-infinite
The latest driver has been released on November 27, 2024. Adrenalin Edition driver version is now 24.12.1. This driver version worked once.
This is not a program loading bar at all. The haloinfinite.exe file takes about 129MB of memory. Based on my research, I came to the conclusion that the loading bar is a GPU test run. I put more power on the GPU and the test passed. The game started. The test bar now moved clearly faster, i.e. if the test bar moves slowly, the game may shut down before the start window and test fail. The bar in the window is not told what is happening. The load on the GPU increases as the bar progresses and at the end it is clearly higher. 🧐

GPU HYPR-RX mode is on now and I haven't overclocked the GPU yet. After a few tries I managed to get the game up and running.
I don't understand why the developer and publisher haven't brought this up in the test window where the game crashes. Hard to understand why players have to wonder about this problem. A few words would have explained everything. "GPU STRESS TEST" or "GPU TEST". The window could have test values and limits to clarify the event. Players didn't have to wonder about the problem if it was clearly displayed.
I shut down the game and restarted the game. The GPU test bar passed right away again and the game started without any problems. Now I can play Halo Infinite with DLC Multiplayer High-Res Textures. 😁
