I don't understand how to play FFA LAN game

Hi, I am trying to create a LAN game with three players, all on windows PC. I understand it should be possible to play 1 against 1 against 1 (no teams). I think I need to start a Free For All (FFA) game for that. But I haven't been able to start a LAN game server in that mode. I have only been able to create a game of two teams (1 vs 2), or 1 against 1 plus an observer. Could someone please explain how to create a LAN game where it's everyone for themselves? I do hope that is possible, but I find the menu's to be very confusing.

Are you sure the game mode you're selecting is the FFA variant of the mode you want to play? For instance the 343 made "Arena: FFA Slayer" game mode is a different mode than "Arena: Slayer". Only the one with FFA in the title will let you play it as FFA.

I try to pick a mode that has "FFA" in it, like ARENA: FFA KING OF THE HILL. But then I somehow fail in the next step(s).
