I have a theory...
After many, many, many hrs of game play, I have come to the conclusion that there is no such thing as "SBMM"...
HOWEVER, there are advantages given to players of lesser experience, easier kills for example, meaning that it takes less effort for lesser experienced players to achieve kills, 3 shots instead of 5, etc, the more a player becomes experienced the harder the kills come, it more effort takes to get kills, better accuracy, better "tactics" and "strategies"...
I have been noticing this for a while now, but just haven't given it a lot of credence or thought until lately...
Pay attention when you play, you may see the same things I'm seeing...

The amount of new account smurfing/deliberately deranking high skill players would surely have noticed, pointed out and documented any supposed new player damage boost, no?

Not necessarily...
Most just play, and when it gets 'too hard" start over with another account...
Anyway, it's just a theory until I can prove it, which will probably never happen, but it's something to think about, and/or consider when you're playing, and when you see lesser experienced players racking up kills, or getting seemingly impossible kills, all the while you're bustin' your hump, just to stay ahead of the curve...
