they either dont care or dont know what to do
Fluinol Dec 10, 2023 @ 7:06am
at this point you can assume they dont care, because they can activate the solo/duo input restricted part, no development no nothing, just activate, they said they didnt want to split population with more playlist but now we got like 15, so is it really that one braking it?
to me is a stupid busines decision, even if you really want that 100% pros be controller as you give them so much assist, wouldnt it be nice to have 10k player playing their own input restricted to them, own ecosystem paying micro transactions?
Rondras Dec 11, 2023 @ 12:59pm
They took years to add no penalisation for leaving after someone DCs in a match, you seriously think they care about us? xD

On a controller or keyboard and mouse? I play with a controller and I don't have any issues.

yes, the controller aim assist is significantly stronger than the average pc players aim, this was proven many times through accuracy stats for PC players vs controller. Meaning aim assist needs to be reduced slightly.

but it's a controller game, they've made it clear, so w/e

i think you guys haven't seen the stats from accuracy from pc to controller. the average controller players accuracy is as good as the top PC players accuracy.

if you're losing to it you're just anything besides the top of the top pc.

Here's a dated link but i don't know why it would have changed;

If you like seeing the stats! You can see the average controller players accuracy % is hoveringthe same as the top 100 kbm (this is taken from ranked stats)

This was on the launch of the game.

A year later (so, 1 year ago from today), this is the stats:

https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpreview.redd.it%2F20p1i3v5ld981.jpg%3Fwidth%3D1171%26format%3Dpjpg%26auto%3Dwebp%26s%3Dad6fc9d055297f709a886ec5d68c442fb24db92c

I'm struggling to find something from this year, but you can see there's a trend.

It's not a simple metric though as this game is an arena shooter which is dependent on not only targeting an enemy and eliminating with a few bullets but consistently tracking a target with a higher time to kill. With a higher aim correction on controllers its skill level to aim is curved if that makes sense. Sure for lower skilled players its going to help them because they couldn't aim to begin with but at the end of the day mouse and keyboard players still have higher situational awareness due to being able to locate a target or look around instantaneously. like at ms levels. So for the dev's if they nerfed the tracking/auto aim just to meet an aribtrary percentage it would just make the controller non-viable and split the playerbase of a game that is already struggling.

You are right, if the 1v1 is with a S7 sniper (no AA) with 15 bullets and damage changed for needing 5 shots, i would gladly take my odds with an MNK, but the current game is rigged for controllers when they have so much help they can perform over human possibility.
Not difficult to understand really, just think you are trolling or defending a position because of lack of faith in your skill with your thumbs

If you play shooters on controller you might as well be watching a movie because the game is playing itself

This might be a controversial take but tracking large, slow moving targets isn't particularly hard without aim assist. If you're aiming at a distance or speed that would require any modicum of skill the aim assist literally doesn't keep up or interfere, it has zero impact on landing a headshot on a target halfway across the map, and doesn't at all stick to targets flinging with grapple hooks, jump pads or in cars. If you're complaining that you're dying to aim assist, it shows there's likely a larger problem, you're probably taking on fights you wouldn't be winning in the first place. If someone needs aim assist with a controller to be able to play in a lobby with PC players, I mean that's fine. A console player is never going to out-aim me, rather console players have to double down on winning matches via game sense, positioning, timing, and about a hundred other factors. If you're losing fights to a controller player, either your aim is so bad you should genuinely check out Aim lab and calibrate, you're matching against players of a much higher skill or you're just not very good at the game. I'm not attacking you by the way, this is what I'd say to anyone with this issue.

Also aesthetically I really like how it feels, aim assist feels warm and gooey in my hands. I can't explain it, it just feels good, you'd think for someone with no issues aiming it would only interfere, but it doesn't help or hurt me at all. It just feels nice?
