The game matches random vs 3 stacks and 4 stacks in ranked. It's absolutely 100% a casual game and should not be taken seriously at all in competitive manner.
Why cant halo be competitive? Why does it have to be so broken? As you said randoms vs 4 stacks all day is not fair. Majority of pvp games and devs impliment sbmm because its the easy way out. Clearly as we are learning with cod people are starting to stand up for it. I have seen way more and more post about sbmm and how it effects them. Maybe noobs or really good players dont see it for those reasons but as the gaming community is growing older better plays get more of a voice and its going to go into the future.
We will all learn in several years how badly sbmm effects pvp games. I cant wait for people for it, to realize how broken it was when the truth gets uncovered in the fullest extent.
Anyone whos a smart player and chooses iq over mechanical skill will see this .
Basically up to the algorithm whether I rank up for not since it entirely dependent on whether I get matched with competent teammates.
Yeah well like you said on a smurf you got to diamond 3. A huge issue nobody discusses is how easy it is to get lucky and rank up into diamond off placement games. Its not fair. Then its alot easier to maintain and also putting worse players above a rank making it throw the whole system off. Imagine 40% of the population plays ranked in the first week and establish ranks. Another week 20% and people get thrown into diamond all the sudden but there worse then plats. They will all the sudden struggle but the mmr system will pair them with higher ranks who carry lobbies.
I believe that is your answer to why the algorithm chooses you or not.
Skill based matchmaking would be: You're level 10. You get matched with other level 10s. Maybe a 9 here, an 11 there.
Casino based matchmaking is: You're level 10. You won last game. Next game you'll be paired with a bunch of level 2s and 3s, going up against a team of 15s.
The low level casuals that play, the ones you keep getting paired with because you're good, will spend more time in game because they're not losing every match. And the longer they stick around, the more money they spend. All at your expense. Game is rigged.
