Post update, initial loading time suddenly takes forever?
I've never had a problem loading the game up, usually takes maybe 10 seconds.

Post update today, suddenly the game takes literally like 5 minutes to load to main menu, every time I run it. I don't know what's happened. I have a decently high end Nvidia gaming rig, its running on an SSD, and it's never had any problems before. Seems like something in desperate need of a hot fix.

I've seen a few people complaining about the same thing on Reddit, but not in here, wondering how widespread this is?

I've just minimized my game to wait for it to load, probably won't take so long the second time though.

First load after updating either my OS or the game always takes a while, but even after that it definitely takes longer now than before the update. Though for me it only went from barely even seeing the loading screen to it lasting 10 seconds.

It does take longer although not that significant. It used to load for like 1 second only and now it takes around 10 seconds to load everytime I boot up the game

I have this issue too, 5+ min load time upon launching the game 100% of the time.

It's crunching shaders, so you don't get judder in your game.

You'll have to do it when there are major updates for the game like just happened, or when you upgrade drivers, etc.

But every single time the game launches?

I just booted it a second time and yeah it was long for me too, much more than I would expect.

Perhaps something needs patching.

I'd say so. Sorry if I seemed rude...

LOL it's fine dude, I didn't notice tbh. When computers don't work it's mad annoying. Worse when it's games getting patched and playing up.

Shader compilation runs EVERY time i start a game.
5-10 MINUTES loading screen waiting

It seems that a patch is in order.

It crashes on window switch, and does the compilation everytime on boot

Really? Is it the window switch that’s causing it? I’ll test that out. But otherwise this is intolerable. The whole point of Halo is that I can get a quick game in when I don’t have much time to play something else. But waiting 5 min to boot it is gonna suck any desire out of starting it.

Just chiming in to say yeah it's still happening even after updating nvidia drivers. I'm running off an SSD and still takes 3-5 minutes to load the main menu.

They broke the Frame limiter and shaders with the patch

Everytime you alt tab the game sets a Frame limit of 24FPS even though your Settings say max FPS is disabled.

You have to disable Vsync, Change your Max FPS from 24 back to what you want, then turn vsync back on. This has to be done everytime you alt tab, they probably tried to make the game limit frames when inactive/tabbed out to save resources, but messed up on making it put the higher limit back when you tab back into the game

Shaders, no clue what they did but my game is recompiling shaders every time the game boots now due to whatever reason
