Despite the improvements, i can't recommend this to friends...

most of my friend group who have ditched halo play other stuff now but are struggling to find something to fill the void. i've stuck with it and told them when a good update has rolled around and usually theyll listen and hop on. Then we team up together and get put in the sweatiest games unlike anything ive ever seen in any playlist you can name. I never get this crap when im solo queuing. I couldn't care less if it means i suck and my MMR is low, my friends hardly play and they dont do very well when i convince them to play and they're like "alright good to see halo still stinks" and im at a loss at this point. because I go and boot the game up alone and have a great time. Idk why we have to be so opposed to friends having fun with MM

Yea the matchmaking can be pretty strict in this game. I have a couple friends who don’t play because we get placed in sweaty matches when they aren’t that good.

Dude I'm not good either. Im as good as you'd expect from an on and off halo player since CE. And I never have a problem til I team up with buds and its not like they secretly play and are in onyx or something

Today I went outside and it was very hot. I then went back inside. I poured a cold glass of ice tea. I sat and whip out my smartphone and watch Tik Tok for the next hour. Normally I only watch TokTok for a few minutes but today the special cat videos were very good. Later I went to pee because I drank too much water. Yea even though it's crazy hot outside I was still able to drink enough water and pee. This is a good sign because it shows I am hydrated. It's almost 3 pm now. I look outside from my patio and there's like steam coming up from the ground due to the heat. Also I just learned TikTok will have text messaging. Such a fine day.

I see leavers in both games and infinite at least has bots to replace them

well theyre not trying to fill a halo-shaped void, per se`. They initially enjoyed infinite. But the lack of content at launch and somewhat dated feel of halo's gameplay turned them off after some time. The void they all are wanting to fill is that arena/squad MP shooter void. Outside of halo they all play battle royale games and such like that. Infinite is good and they acknowledge that but the Matchmaking is insufferable.

Ill be honest, I don't really think this game has some form of matchmaking that tries to keep teams even and matches fun. It feels a lot more like Overwatches forced 50/50 system, where if you have a winrate that goes up to 51%, it will intentionally try to fill your team out to say as an example, 1000 MMR, then put together a team of 2000 MMR to oppose you (a match you could never hope to win, or even put up a semblance of a fight against), in order to force you back down below 50% where "you belong". It will continue to do this until you get to 49% winrate ratio, at which point it will put you against a team with a total MMR of like 200. (A team that is so bad you would win even if your whole team went AFK for the first 5 minutes) to force you back up above 50%, lather, rinse, repeat. I firmly believe that's how it does things nomatter what they claim, because I have NEVER had a match where 1 team was within 50% of the other teams score. Its always a curbstomp one way or another, and the problem with that is that, nobody remembers winning curbstomp matches because they require no brainpower, while when you are getting utterly dominated by last years top Esports team, you remember how brutal that beatdown was, so it feels like every match in Infinite is just a brutal beatdown because those are the only matches anybody remembers.

The only shot we really have is if they add "good matchmaking" as a purchasable thing in the store, because honestly the only way I see them actually implementing a matchmaking system that isn't hot steamy garbage is if they can find a way to monetize it.
