The Game Won't Launch
I have waited for so long to wait for my Halo game to update. Now when it finished, the game won't launch.

same. I just checked and it seems to be a issue with close to minimum speck pcs

But it should work if you have your settings tuned like I do. However the game refuses to even launch. I looked into it and it seems we arent the only ones too.

Hopefully they fix this soon I want to play through the new event:praisesun:

Its an issue with "low end" cards. There is a config file in the data folder that contains a list of graphics cards. Check and see if yours is anywhere on that list and if it is deemed "incompatible". I have a 3gb 1060 and the game would run just find, 72 fps no stutter, but after the update it was deemed "incompatible" and can no loner launch the game. It's likely that your card was culled just like mine. It's truly a shame that this company made that choice. It likely won't be fixed, it was a voluntary choice made by the developers, not a bug.

No wonder why it won't launch. Before Halo updated and still had the winter season, there would always be a message telling me my graphics don't match though I did ignore it. But I guess as both of you said, now Halo isn't even allowing players with lower graphic cards to join. I am really disappointed that they did that because I greatly enjoyed that game.

People are getting this issue with all levels of graphics cards and equipment. Ive seen 3080's and even a 4090 with the exact same issue.

i dont doubt that its happening for higher end cards, but they changed the config files to list our cards as not compatible, which explains why it is happening to us. either way, 343 has dug its grave with this newest update.

you do also realize that the 1060 is actually considered above spec right?

we arent low end. we're above recomended

3gb 1060 is "not compatible" in the config files, the 6gb 1060 is above spec but not the 3gb. please read the config

I got some info about the problem. I was wrong about low end cards not being able to launch the game. "It is failing at launch due to poor/incorrect initialization of KernelBase." I have no idea what that means but it came from someone much smarter than I. The config files always listed the 3gb 1060 as incompatible so my theory was completely wrong.

yeah they listed it as incompatable as direct X 12+ asks that for this game you have at least 4gb.

However its really easy to get around by just lowering settings

That's interesting. I wish there never was this issue though

Do you think that Halo still can launch?

Undoubtably. the core changes should allow it and the minimum specs havent changed

The problem is that the game physically wont launch, memory requirements have no effect on that stuff, only how well the game can load and process textures. They only had that warning because the games textures were larger than 4gb and it would cause performance issues for cards with less than that. Even if i went out and stole a 4090, the game wouldn't launch. It's a software issue, not a hardware issue. Besides, there's not even a way to lower graphics setting without launching the game.

I had my textures set to minimum. you can get below 3 gigs easily with only minor issues.

you must be a brick, i dont think you have any idea what is going on, the game cant launch, it wont launch, it just doesnt open, ive played almost 200 hours just fine on my awful card, no one is saying you cant play on a bad card, obviously turning down the graphics makes a game run well on a bad card, anyone with a pebble of a brain knows that

what were saying is the game wont launch, it literally wont open, please just read, the title literally says "game wont launch", the update broke the game for some people and not even a full reinstall wont fix it

yes i did say that it might be an issue with the gpu, but i was wrong, and i explained that i was wrong, i seriously dont understand where you come up with this stuff

game wont launch, and YOU cant fix it cause i do not believe youre capable of leaving the cement aisle at home depot cause you must think its a buffet, please stop acting like you can fix it, just stop posting and go eat more concrete like a good little brick :steamfacepalm:
