What's the point of having our ranks reset midway through the season when there's no incentive? Does anyone care to explain?

Presumably, it is when a new season should start, otherwise it is usually to drop the inactives from the leaderboard and free up slots in the rank.

when there was a champion rank in Halo 5 (top 200) People would grind ranked to try to get champ 1 it was like a race.

Well that's dumb lol, the game is dead already so there was not point on doing it.
