The client is just crazy unstable right now.
nope
Everything is up to date, verifying files doesn't work, whitelisting on firewalls, the MSI ♥♥♥♥, and so on. I hope an update, that they hopefully will release soon, will solve the cause of crashes people are experiencing.
Granted, it does not happen EVERY single match, but once I get a crash, and launch the game again I have no guarantee that the very next match won't crash as well -- so it's not like "oh it happened again, but at least the next few matches should be alright".
I enjoy the multiplayer and because of that I wanted to purchase the campaign as well, but I won't do it as long as they won't adress and fix the constant crashes.
Checked online for a few solutions but never got sorted, then I saw this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_maS_7Mhtr8) on YouTube which had different steps than I tried before - the game didnt crash for about 7 games. Its was better than before, after each game or half a game it would crash.
Not crashed since capping min & max frames to 120fps.
Think certain physics are tied @120 max (Screams console port) & going over 120 breaks game.
There are two known issues for respawn crashes, either the scoreboard was up or the shield particle effects peg the cards.
For the former, don't use the scoreboard while dead, for the latter, turn full screen effects and exposure down to 10.
This is the running list of crash stuff:
-Disable HD texture (select manage game and untick the HD Content Pack box). Click apply and restart the game after changing this setting.
-Verify game files in steam (Library > Halo Infinite > Rick Click > Properties > Local Files > Verify)
-Turn full screen effects down to 10 in-game, and disable all UI effects.
-Run the system file checker in Windows (Windows key > type cmd > ricght click the command prompt and select "run as administrator" > type sfc/scannow in the command prompt and hit enter. Allow the process to complete. If any errors were found, run this process two more times or until no errors are found.
- If your harware supports it, in Windows enable Hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling. Or if it's already enabled, try disabling it and see if stability improves.
-Reduce reflections quality to Low in-game. (May sound odd, but many of the crashes seem to occur on the Streets map specifically for some users)
-Disable any overlays such as Steam Overlay, Nvidia, Razor, Discord, Game App, Xbox Game Bar, MSI, etc.
-Set your in-game MAX FPS to your refresh rate. Set your minimum fps in-game to something you find tolerable.
-Turn Geometry to low
-clearing the cache on Steam by going to settings then the download section, then selecting ‘clear download cache’
-Press the ‘Windows Key’ + ‘I’ simultaneously on your keyboard, Select the ‘Apps’ section from the menu selection, Find Halo Infinite in the application list, Left-click Halo Infinite to reveal ‘Advanced options’, Find the ‘Reset’ button and left-click it, Open the Xbox app and ‘reinstall’ Halo Infinite
-Uninstall/Disable RivaTuner Statistic Server
-Some users are experiencing memory crashes now due to a recent patch. Validate your virtual memory allocation is set more than 1.5 x your RAM (i.e. 16 GB RAM should have 25 GB virtual memory allocation).
Nothing could fix KernalBase.dll
When the game crashed i saw a spike in the virtual memory like doubeling the usage instantly (from about 10% to 20% of 48gb) if thats any hint.
Im kinda sad this topic is still around 2 months later. The community shouldnt have to fix a game that just launched but i guess thats how thinks work now.
Unfinished games can be charged full price so why finish them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
