Seems like the issue was that when you started the game with the keyboard the aim assist was disabled for controller. So I think that caused a huge split on people like me to think the AA isn't bad. Having tried controller without starting with keyboard first, yes the aim assist is really strong.

But since in ranked you can just choose mouse only or gamepad only, does it really matter? If you really care about skilled gameplay go ranked.

same because i never once had aim assist like that ever and my PC forces it to boot as keys first and then swap to controller.
