Xbox One Controller not detected
I recently had to factory reset my computer, and obviously reinstall my games. I started up my games one by one to check and make sure all was good, but when I got to Halo Infinite my controller wasn't working. I have the drivers updated, and it works with all my other games. In this instance it's acting as if I don't have a controller plugged in, and forces me to use the keyboard and mouse. If anyone has a solution I'd appreciate it.

I think you can set up a controller through Steam, unless I'm wrong.

Out of curiosity is it the new style xbox controllers or the ones that came with the xbox one ?

It's one I got from Gamestop because the original broke, but as far as I know it's the same thing just white.

Sometimes launching the game won't detect it with the controller plugged in. You then just mouse click past the menu, then disconnect the controller and reconnect the controller and it should re-detect it again.

The other option is try launching the game using steam's big picture mode which uses the steam controller codec. Alternatively, you could try launching steam big picture mode, go to library, controller settings, and see if the pop up window shows what the steam input is. Some people have swapped it to make the Steam Input Per-Game Setting to Forced Off.

I found a solution. If you go into Steam's "Big Picture Mode" then play the game it works. Thanks for the help.
