They were far worse in other games lol... Nothing like getting instantly headshot by them in Halo 2 and 3 I believe the instant you entered their point of view. You can't even see them most of the time either, you just instant dead lol.

This is entirely a skill issue as jackal snipers are easier to detect in this game than ever before thanks to their bright glowing visors and scope glints.

Not only that but on Legendary they take 2 shots to kill you. In Halo 2 you were searching for pixels in the distance that just might be a Jackal Sniper then boom one shot dead.

i love that jackal snipers are back to nearly their former glory. But they got nerfed hard with showing a aming-laser before actually firing. so you 100% know when they targetting you.
I thing the easiest answer to your problem is.... git gud.

Halo 2 was a one shot whether they hit you in the head OR the pinkie toe and they didn't have any kind of glare to give away their positions like all later games. But even though the jackal snipers were the most famous part of the Halo 2 legendary experience, this kind of cheap difficulty was placed everywhere. Mostly with cheap spawn triggers. And the fact that you were the second weakest thing in the universe beside a parasite form. You were so weak that vehicles would take multiple times as much damage just because you were sitting in it. Even the marines who didn't have humanities most expensive suit, could take multiple jackal sniper shots before kicking the bucket.
