Loading from checkpoints

Whoever decided to not include the option to load checkoints and *not* implement any other failsafe in case you clip out of the map:
I hope you have to flip burgers for the rest of your life.

Alt F4 and then clicking load (for LASO or other enabled skulls) or continue in the campaign menu usually gets you back to where you were saved before you had a mapping error. But I agree, reload checkpoint is a staple in any game, and it is missing in this one.

i don't see an issue.

If you are in a mission then simply restart it.

if you are in the open world then simply quicktravel.

Restarting the mission usually puts you back at the beginning of a key point or cutscene. No one in their right mind would want to kill the two brute elite champions guarding the power seed in the temple more than once on legendary.

i hate how broken hunters are even at lower difficulties, if they are broken at heroic then ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ laso man. bruh ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ im stuck in that room that locks 2 red hunters inside with you and its the most broken ♥♥♥♥ ive ever played, you are supposed to play like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ spiderman not taking A SINGLE HIT i think MAX you can survive is 2 shots if u have a full shield but that can obviously be interupted at any ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ TIME as tthe hunters have a rng blast shooting thing where they spray about 20 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ shots at once like a machine gun and somehow the devs thought this was ok? like " o ye the average human reaction time is 0.4 seconds, the hunter bullet time travel is 0.1 seconds and the machine gun period lasts 4 full seconds and there isnt even a warning before they blast millions of hunter bullets at u in 0.01 second?,,, hmm....ye put it in this will be so difficult omg the players will have so much fun!11!!!"

its not even remotely fun to play against a hunter in this god for saken untested game, u clip thru maps like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, u cant even get ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ checkpoints if u dont have a FULL shield? ...........what?.. literlly who came up with this STUPIDDD idea like did they actually sit down and go "mm ok the player has no way to know if they have shields or not sometimes, hmm lets just make sure that they dont get checkpoints if they dont have a full shield"
and the fact u cant even revert to last checkpoint bruh why did they remove the most basic feature ...

This game has this weird checkpoint / progress difference. When you quit out you go back to the last progress point. When you die you go back to the last checkpoint.

Why can't you just save/load whenever you want. Hate it when all it tells you, you will lose all progress since the last (unknown) save. Some games show you the time since the last save, not sure if that's better or worse. Just let me save and continue from where I saved.

Also what game doesn't have out of bounds check, reset logic implemented. I got stuck under the map as well, had to quit out and do a whole part over. It's happy to reset me if I swing an inch too low with the grapple hook, yet get stuck under the map, keep on falling nowhere for infinity.

This is one of the most baffling omissions when it comes to this game, and the way that quitting out and loading back in works totally different to every other Halo game makes it doubly strange.

I have gotten stuck under the map many times now in a weird state where you aren't falling and you can't actually do anything besides look around. You can see Chief's model just stuck in whatever position it was in last. You are totally unable to do anything outside of drop your weapon (if you bothered to bind that function).

It wouldn't be so bad if this just worked like every other Halo game where checkpoints were save points and you could just load back in right where you were. But for some reason they changed that too.

This also always feels like it happens right when the game is at it's most frustrating or most ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, which results in you having to do said ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ all over again.

This and many other issues have turned this into one of the easiest but also one of the most frustrating Halo games on legendary. and that definitely isn't a good thing.

While i do think that the turning speed of the red ones was a little bit silly, i do think that Hunters are best when they feel like mini bosses.

Buuuuuut if they are a several minute long fight and your game glitches out afterwards without having a robust checkpoint system you can manually load into and without the devs implementing a proper kill barrier under each map i can see a higher difficulty in form of a longer fight become detrimental.

It's not the fault of the Hunters, but everything surrounding them though,

Before I knew the pistol could one shot them as a kid, the Hunter fights were these intense boss battles with amazing music. Halo 2 has the Mombasa Theme as an intro to them and it slaps. Halo 3 and ODST were exillerating Hunter fights. Halo Reach had me ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ myself with fear as a kid. Halo 5 has the toughest ones outside of Infinite.

If you shoot the hunters in the orange exposed bit at the back, it kills them with one shot from the pistol in Halo CE
