as for tips i recommend an aim trainer i think there is one on steam that is free and quite popular but forgot the name of it, also mp servers are really bad right now i can't get a decent kill without either dying in the process or the hit detection doesn't work because of the lag. also set whatever mouse you have to a dpi your comfortable with and stick with that for a bit
countermeasures help such as causing them to miss a shot by crouching, strafing or using cover. jumping more often than not makes you an easy target.
a melee from the back is a kill so if you rush past them and spin around before they do you have the advantage but its safer to use cover and make them come to you
a good thing to do is get steams aim lab so you can tune your flick sensitivity to where your muscle memory is and also practice flick shots and tracking
This Video just shows how I'm being outplayed as a Mouse user. I feel cheated.

As to actual tips. ill try to avoid the "Get an aim trainer" replies that I've seen. If aiming is your problem, Id start with setting yourself some goals and go to town on the weapon drills. an aim trainer might help, but its better, imo, to use the actual weapon in-engine. I did this when the game launched and it really made me more confident in my shot.
Some other misc info that might be helpful. Start by keeping your reticle at head/body level when possible, especially when holding an angle or pushing. since everyone is using the same gun, its important to get damage advantage wherever possible. on that note, make sure you aren't sprinting around corners, as to avoid giving free damage to anyone watching them.
With the BR, aim for center mass. the recoil will often give you headshots, and when your enemies shield is up damage is the same no matter where you hit them. obviously without shields feel free to got for the head tap, but a lot of mnk players try to go for headshots all the time, and miss half their burst through the recoil.
Hope these help! let me know if this all makes sense lol!
Will try out all your suggestions.
I'm Diamond2 in Ranked playing Crossplay, and I think that's my biggest problem, I'm going to go back and try out Keyboard/Mouse.
I've noticed trying to aim above their head slightly has helped too.
No matter how you feel about PC gaming and or Fortnite/Cold war, at the end of the day, aiming is a skill that can be improved with practice outside of the game no matter what others say about that and I recommend you try something to improve said aim and or tracking. At the end of the day, you simply have to hit more shots. Though that is coming from someone with like an 80% head shot rate in Cold War so maybe I am not qualified to answer this question.
Just a tip, avoid spray weapons as a MnK user like the AR and Commando b/c they have horrendous bloom even if you're accurate with your reticle on target and you'll lose against a controller player 8/10 times because they have strong bullet magnetism so they'll simply out dps you.
It is probably not as advantageous in campaign however, where enemies move much more predictably and can usually be one or two-shotted with easily accessible weapon setups regardless of difficulty.
Not true but keep telling that to yourself to make you feel better :)
Aim trainers only really help when it has the possibility to have the same sensitivity settings as in halo, if that's not the case it will mess with your muscle memory so don't bother using an aimtrainer that doesn't have settings specifically for halo
It's the crosshair-pulling aim assist that is gamepad only.
(And if recent video from Reddit is anything to go by, the crosshair-pushing negative magnetism the sniper might be getting on mouse aim, but I'm waiting for more info than just the single video on that one)
