Hayabusa isn't just going to be thrown in, 343 doesn't have the rights to it.
If they implemented the vidmaster recon challenges today, it'd get more flak than the coatings and the store combined, it was the worst decision Bungie ever made for the series, fans didn't enjoy it.
You keep uttering this total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, but every match I see players flexing their high battle pass rewards (which they got for playing, not paying.) just like they would their armor effects in Reach, or their Recon/Hayabusa in 3.
The difference here is, you actually have to put in elbow grease to earn it, instead of afking grifball/grinding firefight idly or just googling skull locations, by all means it's a straight improvement from the systems that the old Bungie forums complained about.
Get off your high horse called corporate ♥♥♥♥ please.
Many battlepass players likely got their rewards from paying additionally on top of the entry fee. You can also get double xp from multiple other purchases, and XP boosts as well. That isn't "normal progression" its a premium. You can get these from the regular tree but not very many of them. The battlepass relies on objectives which is a frankly stupid way to do things, but they aren't even objectives that work in any mode, specifically you need to play several different ones, including ranked, which makes people who actually want to play ranked angry (see several threads about that on here from many disgruntled ranked players. Though that doesn't even just apply to that, there's people that leave several different casual modes because you're also forced to jump around them. Why is progression not purely based on how you play? There being a paid battlepass on top of the egregious monetization in the store is also just an insult.
Yes, Vidmaster was hellish and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ grind but honestly at least the items you got, you could say "I earned them, this is what my hard work gave me." And not "I typed in magic card number and bought if with money." While I enjoy the game on it's own, I still think it should have rewards to earn.
Reach's system had flaws but arguably it was more rewarding that the current one 343i has. If those flaws were ironed out and implemented here we wouldn't have a problem. Honestly I rather they give us the option fo earn these items with free currency earned by playing the game or allow us to buy stuff because honestly my biggest issue with the game is the store and that seems to be something we'll have to learn to deal eith for a long while.
And yes you can put in the time but that time you spent leveling up your battle pass means nothing unless you spend money to unlock the items in your battle pass. I get your point but you act like nothing's wrong with the current system, like if you're a slave for 343i in hope that they give you your own Armour Coating or something. Stop, open your eyes. See what everyone else is seeing, honeymoon phase is long over. It's time to become aware.
Wait, who has the rights to the Hayabusa armor?
Well, unless they do the a tie in again. Halo 3 had it cause Nicole was in DOA 4. Sorta like a Halo VS DOA Event.
God himself bought the rights to Hayabusa
Just because a fraction of a fraction of players buy tiers doesn't actually dissuade you from feeling rewarded from a grind, no?
Reach's system was immensely worse, without a doubt, because without even a payment goal, they didn't care to make the grind less painful, it burnt people out, and forced people to play in unfun ways, afking grifball, poorly playing firefight, It was the worse option in every way.
You can put in the time to do some of the vidmaster challenges in Halo 3, but if you don't buy ODST for 60$ and do the rest, then you've wasted all of your time, because you don't get anything out of it.
I know that on paper it sounds really bad, but it's a small 10$ fee, and you know exactly what you'll get, and get it at a steady rate, it's going straight into funding new content.
If you still have these criticisms a full year from now, then so be it, but I'd personally reccomend just having a bit of patience and let 343 iron out the kinks to have the system work the way they intended.
Hayabusa is a video game crossover.
Ryu Hayabusa from the Ninja Gaiden/Dead or Alive games is a Koei Tecmo property and they have copyright over it
I can wait but I don't like completely overlooking that these issues exist.
