What is left to Earn in Halo Infinite? Where's Hayabusa, Where's Recon?
How much does it cost to buy them on the market?
The pride of earning something others don't have.
It's been replaced by how deep your pockets are.
It doesn't matter what rank I am, or how hard I fight to complete the game %100
I have nothing to show others that I have done it. In fact I look like a basic ♥♥♥♥♥ with nothing to my name.

What a joke.

*Edit
Here's a little nostalgia, from me to all of you.

I remember me and my friend having a slight bet, we were both going to earn the Hayabusa set, but we had to do it on Legendary. (The Level Cortana was a ♥♥♥♥♥ to do.)
I know Hayabusa is strictly easier to get than Recon, but the memories of staying up nightly trying to desperately claw my way to some of these skulls was an absolute hell to my younger self.

I persevered, I overcame.

The moment I picked up that last skull, and completed the Warthog run, would be a twofer.
The first time I EVER beat any Halo on Legendary, and the completion of my goal in attaining Hayabusa Armor.

The Pride, the Relief, and everything I played video games for came rushing to me.
An Arbitrary accomplishment that meant the world.
This free to play nonsense has taken away so much of that it's... angering, frustrating, disappointing?
It was so close, within a hairs breadth away from rekindling that fire that Halo gave to me all those years ago.

here's a thought: You generally have to "earn" money. So, if you buy a cosmetic, you earned the financial power to make it yours. I'd say it's harder to come by money than beat a challenge in a video game.

i'm not trying to be sarcastic, just expand the thought bubble here.
Yeah, I'm going to have to say that I would personally feel less accomplished in general having spent real money on an in-game cosmetic item, aside from the fact that nothing was done to earn it in the game itself. The real money you earn through doing your actual job should be invested in things that provide actual lasting value and potential for return. Buying a video game for entertainment is already frivolous but one of the ways it provides that entertainment is through simulating the sense of accomplishment you get from reaching milestones in real life, that doesn't mean it's a good surrogate for that feeling when invested in with actual time spent working instead of playing the game.

I don't care what anyone says, that's on the level of hyper-reality where someone is fully exchanging not just entertainment or hobby time, but real life accomplishment and assets for literally nothing. And it's exactly why these kinds of systems are sick in principle. If you truly believe in what you said then you're being scammed, it's as simple as that.

first, thanks for the thoughtful reply.

I totally agree with the satisfaction of overcoming challenges in the virtual space. Also agree with "I don't care what anyone says, that's on the level of hyper-reality where someone is fully exchanging not just entertainment or hobby time, but real life accomplishment and assets for literally nothing.". i would like to add that some value virtual life more than others, so the trade off might not be off-putting.

Lastly, i don't take to heart what i said in my previous post. I stated it to stimulate discussion and move things along. :D

Solid argument, I'm glad all you have to sling is insults, Reactionaries got your tongue or something?
Just report the trolls and move on, its obvious when the insults begin to fly that they have no real counterargument to begin with. It is best to report, ignore and move on.

So soft skinned to report people. Lol..... LOL.

Matter of fact, the battlepass is super slow, there is no way to earn in game items, or earn items via credits. There is no exp ranks, there is no stats, and the customization is locked behind sets and cores..... and the store is expensive for what is being given.... I mind as well buy the two witcher 3 DLC for the price of a cosmetic skin... this is a joke.

I give a ♥♥♥♥, because that was the point of my arguement. The worth of being able to bypass playing the game is another discussion entirely.
Oh, so y'all angry that you don't have to do some arbitrary challenge like sucking off the Prophets 9 times on LASO while taking it up the ass from a Brute Honorguard while other people can just buy the cosmetics instead making you feel less special?
I think you missed my point, so let me reiterate. You CAN pay for battlepass levels, thus having high pass level items does not necessarily mean you put in the work on earning those items. Whether or not this was a good thing or not is NOT my arguement.

There's actually people in this world who say it's a good thing they took away challenge based unlocks in favor of paying for everything. Wow.

Some people absolutely will be happy in the future dystopia. They won't own property, won't be able to buy land or a house or start their own business, they'll rent everything as a "live service" by subscription and work some kind of soul crushing job for a major corporation to earn the digital tokens to pay for it. No chance for upward mobility, no chance for inter-generational wealth transfer, just a tiny life of perpetual meaningless comforts lived mostly in digital spaces. Won't even need to leave their solitary prison cell-sized pod. Everything will be delivered to them, they'll be encouraged to enjoy only digital entertainment and VR so as "not to use more than their share of resources" in spite of the fact that the corporations telling them how to live will be ruining the earth like never before; like world consuming parasites consuming anything of beauty or value and leaving poison in their wake. And they'll look at the surveillance camera in the corner of their pod while they're eating their maggot paste and wave and smile as if to thank whoever might be on the other side for the bounty they've so generously been given, but there will be no one there. Just algorithms and numbers, plotting out the projected lifetime value of an interchangeable economic unit, and planning when to dispose of it.

We be getting there, Microsoft Word be subscription only now, it's happening all so slowly. By the time it comes into effect I imagine I'll just be on my last breath.

We ether populate the stars, or obliterate ourselves, only two outcomes.

The battle pass is perfectly fine progression, and it costs only 10$.

Hayabusa isn't just going to be thrown in, 343 doesn't have the rights to it.

If they implemented the vidmaster recon challenges today, it'd get more flak than the coatings and the store combined, it was the worst decision Bungie ever made for the series, fans didn't enjoy it.

You keep uttering this total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, but every match I see players flexing their high battle pass rewards (which they got for playing, not paying.) just like they would their armor effects in Reach, or their Recon/Hayabusa in 3.

The difference here is, you actually have to put in elbow grease to earn it, instead of afking grifball/grinding firefight idly or just googling skull locations, by all means it's a straight improvement from the systems that the old Bungie forums complained about.

Stop it. Get some help.

Jesus, I leave for 2 days and this thread is still alive?!

I've read all the comments, let me just say I'm glad I'm not the only one to feel this way.
Hello Leah btw, nice to see you again, I've had a lot less stress blocking all you shills who defend the companies policies than before I interacted with you. Good thing my other two threads weeded most of you out.
