Why can't we cheat? (IN SINGLEPLAYER)
Look guys, I'm not here to start a "moral debate" on singleplayer cheating. It's only me playing, I'm not ruining anyone's fun, I just personally have more fun being in god mode going through the campaign. If you can't understand or deal with that, get out of this thread.

The singleplayer campaign has an extensive and invasive anti-cheat system, the same as the multiplayer. This is probably due to the game's engine or the sheer incompetence of the devs. In which case, I would urge them to fix this and allow us cheaters to modify the game we paid 60€ for. However, if this is intended, why would you do this devs? I'll probably get banned for this thread or for cheating in singleplayer, which I don't care about anyway because I don't play that sh1t to play, microtransactions sewage hole of a multiplayer, but what's the reasoning behind forbidding cheats in a singleplayer campaign? The only reasons I can think of are 2:

1) They will introduce microtransactions, like "pay 10€ to get 20 spartan cores in the campaign" (or other Ubisoft-like "time savers") and then of course they wouldn't want you to cheat and get it for free.
2)They want to force players into playing their game the way they intended, or not play it at all.

Remember when cheats where directly IN THE GAME? Either through codes like GTA or console commands like Bethesda games? There's a reason why these singleplayer open world games give the player cheats. Because they're fun. Taking the fun out of a videogame is a really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ move.

A good point against putting anti-cheat systems in singleplayer, is that no matter how good your anti-cheat is, hackers will find a way, and in this way, whatever cheats will be made for the singleplayer, will work in the multiplayer as well since they have to bypass the anti-cheat system anyway.

I understand your point, but if my memory serves me right, there were no cheat codes for Halo CE, 2, 3, ODST, 4 and 5.. only Skulls to increase the difficulty and unlimited ammo.

Because they don’t want you to be able too. That’s why.

Not only there are mods for those games, it's also very easy to give yourself god mode, unilimited ammo, noclip flying etc. with a little bit of coding. Can't do that here because the singleplayer game detects these changes and closes the game to prevent cheating. This makes sense in multiplayer but none whatsoever in singleplayer.

The game launched this week, give it time.

This has nothing to do with the launch. This isn't a bug.

Mods are not made by the developer but the community, also i gather you tried to use "Cheat engine" since you said it crashes when you made changes.

No other singleplayer game, even on launch week, crashes when you attach cheat engine to it to prevent cheating. If it's like this now, it will be like this 10 years from now unless the devs decide to remove the anti-cheat from the singleplayer.

Monster Hunter: World did.

The game is the game, why would they go out of their way to disable whatever anti-cheat systems they have when you launch the campaign just to accommodate cheaters of any type? There are a couple of skulls you can get for things like infinite ammo.

Because it's the right thing to do? Because singleplayer cheaters pay 60€ for this game like everyone else? Because you should want to have more freedom to use the game you paid for regardless whether you cheat or not?
