Plasma pistol ain't that bad really when you use it secondary weapon for quick shield drop.
Flamethrower always felt useless so not gonna miss that.
Shock weapon stuns vehicles more than long enough, just learn to use it properly.
+1 I approve of this message
You can do 2 shot with it, if it's hard to believe you can go try it in Weapon Drill's
The cone of fire on it is unbelievably tight,
Frankly its not even really a shotgun in any meaningful sense,
I have missed body shots at close range because its innital spread is tight enough to slip through cracks, or ever a last second jump will completely miss.
Any literally any halo that is basically unheard of,
Being anywhere near the danger end of the boom stick was always extremely risky,
Now its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ unusable at the range you expect it to work,
The range where melee damage becomes critical.
Missing a single followup shot when someone is rushing you is a coin toss if you're going to survive a close range battle.
I usually run plasma pistol+sidekick and rack up some massive kills thanks to how quick that combo swaps (I've noticed different weapons swap at different speeds, and the plasma pistol+sidekick swaps almost instantly), and the fact that 1 charge shot+1 headshot=an instant kill.
There are alot of weapons that outclass its utility at the range you'd except to use it honestly, Frankly, I would literally prefer a Mauler over it, it can quickly 2 hit body shot anyone reliably,
Plasma pistols lost their consistency,
as far as I can tell, their effective splash area has been extremely reduced and lost a chunk of its homing mobility and a large part of its range. Their completely unused in BtB and are close to never used in Quick games. That paired with the fact they lose their disable ability. The Guns just a redundancy, there are strictly better options than using it.
I'm referring to the Ravager,
It has a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ weird learning curb, and isn't all that useful as a standalone weapon for regular 4v4 combat. Its rules are wacky, It only bounces when fully charged, and it gently spews fire in single shot bursts, supposedly two direct hits is enough to kill someone, but I've never tactfully seen it pulled off. The projectiles are slow as ♥♥♥♥, and the Time to kill compared to other weapons of its class put it at a hard disadvantage against literally anything.
As for the electric weapons...
Honestly, never found them to be useful, their also SO scarce to the point their entirely useless for their intended ability. Of the Big Team maps, Only one of them has a useful spawn.
Like, in older halo game, plasma pistols were almost always readily available.
They were usually plentiful, and somewhere convenient, for when vehicles started getting thrown into the mix. Your team always had some level of counter play ready.
Now with how big the maps are, and how unintuitive the weapon spawning systems are, having disabling weapons ready for combat is really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rare.
Realistically, they have fallen into a place of really bad inconvenience.
Their pretty useless for ground combat, unless you're a god with headshots, or a cheater.
And for disabling, there almost nowhere to be seen.
