Is the battle rifle bad ?

I can't seen to get many kills with the battle rifle it feels like a nurf gun because I have two challenges that revolve around getting kills with it but it feel really hard to get kills with it

You have to break their shield then shoot the head... It takes 4 bursts if every shot hits and the 4th burst is on their head.

Aim for center of mass, not head, until shields are completely down. You don't get headshot damage bonus on shielded enemies.

Its very good and is a high skill weapon, on mouse and keyboard at least..

Ok that would explain it I always went for headshots because I thought it would do bonus damage to their Shields note to self shoot Center Mass LOL

I aim to account for movement so if the are moving left ill aim a little to the left. the biggest problem is getting the aim right because of the flight time of the bullets and the 3 round burst. and I always aim for the head

I really like BR, although it makes you feel like you just got lucky most of the time since the burst can and will break the shield and kill the enemy in the last burst.

If you're close enough, melee them to break their shield and follow it up with a BR headshot for a 1HK. It's definitely more difficult to get kills with it since they removed the reticle turning red on the PC version, but I still like using it.

I think it's actually contrary to what people here have been saying: the BR is pretty good because it is really easy to use. It's very forgiving at any range and will kill Spartans if you hit them in the head when their shields are down - which too is made very easy with the BR due to the lack of recoil and even a scope.

Yup, the BR is rather easy to use maybe among the easiest weapons with a controller.

The BR is deadly, especially at range. Try adjusting down sensitivity as well as dead zone for scoped engagments. learn the timing of the shots, its almost to a beat and sync your strafe. 8/10 times you should beat an AR at close to mid range with hip fire, just don't panic and land that dome shot. Time to kill is very fast with peak efficiency, 4 shots. Combo with anything electric or plasma and you'll see how op it can be

it would be faster to just melee them twice then dude
