It's such a minor thing to complain about, but yeah the cat ears were just a really stupid and dorky cosmetic item to add to the game. Kind of ruins the immersion in a sense. Maybe part of my frustration comes from the fact cat ear players are usually annoyingly good, lol

Edit: Was not expecting to start a whole ass war in the comments. I also didn't even realize furries were still a thing until after I made this post

To argue this entire point, Roman Velites wore wolf-heads to stand out so that there higher ups would see them and possibly make them a full soldier, plus it boosts morale to go "Hey I know that, that's one of our dudes.". WW2 Pilots had nose art of full on boobies, shark faces, etc. Modern Special Forces have a lot of loose customization laws for their gear.
Helicopter Crew Chiefs customize their helmets.
Emile has a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ skull on his helmet. It's not that big of a deal, the Spartans in Infinite are normal people who became Spartans, if some Spartan in lore wanted to put cat ears on his helmet like this and higher ups allowed it who cares.
All that I care about is that the cat ears fit the artstyle just as the Hayabusa fit Halo 3s. It's not as if they're actual furry ears that flop around like it's Fortnite, it's not a big issue. People whine about anything I swear. Just ignore the damn ears. Everyone wants to customize their armor to their liking and fitting, it's been like that for a long time in history, so who cares.
