It really varies from game to game. Some games actually state the expected framerate/resolution/settings for their minimum and recommended specs but most don't.

For the most part, it usually means the most common systems at the given technological epoch. but that's in no way set in stone. If I had to guess, the resolution is targeting 1440p given the system reqs.

The funny part here is that i got 60 fps on ultra settings on 1080p with an GTX 1060 in the flight. And they sait that the exe was broken so we lost 20% of fps.

Maybe we need more for the campaign

I have a feeling this is why they are avoiding showing campaign gameplay. To hide the issues.

I already thought exactly the same thing. But it's better the way 343 handle it. I mean with Cyberpunk the recommended graphics card is a GTX1060 on high settings - and that just plays underground. It is a lie.

Well, I wanted to upgrade anyway. If only it weren't for the outrageous graphics card prices

Multiplayer is no problem for this card.

You'll be fine. A little tweaking in the settings, and you won't even need to use the adaptive resolution feature.

I'm sure they're for 1440p or higher, it'd be pretty insane to need a 2070 or higher just to run at 1080p high/ultra, especially given how performant the tech preview was even on more middling hardware with incomplete driver support.

It's 1080p for recommended. Bodes ill for optimisation that you require a RTX 2070 and i7 9700k just for an enjoyable experience at 1080p lol.

He does this all the time. Makes us stuff, then uses his own theory to strawman the least charitable consideration on 343 possible; then shoots off so he doesn't have to back up anything. Hence why he's banned.

Currently:
MINIMUM:
Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
OS: Windows 10 RS3 x64
Processor: AMD FX-8370 or Intel i5-4440
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: AMD RX 570 or Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti
DirectX: Version 12
Storage: 50 GB available space

RECOMMENDED:
Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
OS: Windows 10 19H2 x64
Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X or Intel i7-9700k
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: Radeon RX 5700 XT or Nvidia RTX 2070
DirectX: Version 12
Storage: 50 GB available space

These will likely be updated before release. My 1070 played the earlier tech preview just fine and they already say they fixed a bug from that which increases performance by 20%.
