But it is a genre now. Trends dont last this long.

So many people with audiences, People that 343 follow, are advocating for it.
You have Dr.disrespect returning, reacting to the infinite gameplay and saying Halo is made for battle royale. Just for example.

Battle royale is hugely popular. And its really a matter of when.
The people against it are a minority at this point.

I expect it, however what would be a cool move would be to have it be fully made with their new forge and custom game scripting setups. You could already do some crazy stuff with H5 scripting and you can do a lot with even Halo Reach/4 MEGALO scripting

Battle royale is extremely popular, And refusing microsofts plan to release infinite in segments, may give 343 a lot less control in that regard.

I think thats a bit unreasonable to the playerbase that wants it.

I'd rather they expand upon Halo 5's Warzone mode than replace it with some BR ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I actually enjoyed the mode. Something I've wanted for a long time is being able to play as more than a Spartan or Elite. They could handle playing as different races from halo like Star Wars BFII handles the different types of characters that play differently. Being on the alien side and racking up kill points to spawn as a Hunter, Chieftain, or whatever would be bad ass. Humans would only need Sgt Johnson to spawn in and rekt ♥♥♥♥.
