White surfaces - can they always be climbed/walked?
When using the look/see further mechanic I'd understood that all surfaces that appear outlined in shiny white line means that they can be walked or climbed (or jumped). And reds not (or at best, can be slid down, trying to not die on the way!).

But I've been stuck underneath a bit of an overhang that IS white, but I can't seem to get up. Have tried walking, climbing, jumping, walk+jump...
The other way around up to the peak I'm trying to get up, has steep red surfaces, so seems not possible either...

Any advice at all? Does Moira sometimes find rocks to roll or something else to climb up stuff? Or perhaps am I waiting to find a piece of rope later somewhere ?

I'm on the ridge just in front of Old Mine/Devil's Peak But I'm guessing this isn't site specific?

----
Sorry if there's a bit much from me just at first now, I'm sure I'll get better at all this.
Soon.
I hope... ;-)

EDIT: I took a screenshot of the place:

I can’t see the red ‘slidey slope’ (what us in QA called them) in that screenshot.
Anyway, there are just a few white line paths which are one direction only.
Not sure exactly where you are in that screenshot, but you may need to go in one particular direction to progress.
Or find a map/shortcut to get around the area easier.
Also, as you’re walking slowly around, watch for the journal icon (at top-right) ‘wobbling’, indicating that you are in the area of a location on a map you already have. Open the map page in your journal and it should allow you to confirm a location.
I’ll play through and get to that site later today, to see where you might be.

The red zones are at a couple of places on the path going up the peak from the right - you can just see a bit of one of them at the righthand edge of the screenshot, and there are 1 or 2 further down on that route also.

In the screenshot Moira isn't actually standing right under the overhang any more, I'd moved on a little before thinking I ought to screenshoot it. But if you look at the lefthand slope of the peak with the bright spot on top, there are 3 upsticking bits there, a cairn I think near the top and then 2 bushes/trees further down the slope. And just a little bit further down from that last bush is a very prominent overhang - and a small boulder just to the left of it. I was trying to get up there.

Thansk for trying to help - much appreciated !

Pretty sure you have to jump onto the overhang from the boulder, but I’ll go there now and have a look.

Will upload a video and link it here when it’s done.

It's still processing up to 4K, but should be watchable right now:

There are other places like this, where jumping from a rock gets you across or up other obstacles.
There are even a few red slidey slopes which you can actually climb Up, as there are a series of rocks just behind them, so don’t always think you’re stuck. ☺️

Um- If you posted a video link about 50 minutes ago, the Steam system is not showing it (posting marked by Steam as "This comment is awaiting analysis..."). So I can't actually access it from here )

EDIT: Ah, I just remembered a workaround for that kind of thing here on Steam (using the 'Quote and reply to comment' will show a comment even while it's still hidden by that Steam thingy). I did, and got the URL, and will look at it now. Thanks! :-)

I did try jumping from the boulder as well.
Maybe I just timed it wrong...

I'll trek back up and give it another go.

Oh - and I forgot to say: I am absolutely LOVING the game - I do so like a game that rewards pootling around and exploring (yeah, yeah, Beltane gone past already, that won't be happening for a couple of playthroughs yet. I think :-)
SO lovely, and immersive, and the Scottish accents and voicework so good, and the storytelling, and the music, and the accessibility optioens (thank you!!) and , well :-) :-) :-)

Thanks for the video - KNOWING that something must work, does make a difference.
And I figured out what I had got wrong at earlier attempts - I had to press UP + RIGHT + Jump all at once. I had only tried Up+Jump or Right+Jump, but not all three at once (I'm on KB, and a bit of a newbie at games in general). Whoohoo - so happy :carto_snowman:
THANK YOU :lunar2020hearteyesrabbit:
