Just me, or are QBs on your team just plain stupid?

So I'm playing franchise as a HB on the Chiefs, with no control over other players on my team. It's annoying enough that WRs that catch a pass (if the ball is actually thrown), will dodge to the left as soon as they catch it, allowing their pursuit to catch them when there is just open field in front of them. It's annoying that on CPU run plays that make it around the corner of the line the CPU will then run right back into the line to get tackled instead of running down field.

But the thing that makes me want to cuss is the QB. I stopped running shotgun plays because way over 50% of the time he will just stand there looking down field for a good 10 seconds until he is sacked. He might on occasion roll out to the right after about 5 or 6 seconds, then get sacked 4 seconds later and lose even more yards. I'd be perfectly fine if he just threw the ball away after a short time, but nope, never once seen him do that.

Even on several standard passes he will just stand in the pocket motionless with out trying to scramble (after all he's not to bad at it on the 1 in 30 chance that he tries), for over 5 seconds.

And after a sack I can expect most defensive plays to be a blitz which the offensive line has yet to stop a single one. So I end up with a boring one dimensional game with nothing but inside hand offs and the occasional quick pass.

Now I admit, I haven't played Madden since like Madden 7 or 8, and just picked this one up so I'm sure most of the problems are mine. But seriously, throw the ball or run, dont just stand there and get sacked time after time because you refused to move for 10 seconds.

Also I'm playing on Pro and Competitive since I dont feel like I'm good enough to play at a higher level. If I increase the level will the QBs get smarter? Not looking for an easier game, just one were a QB that I'm not controlling does something.

Yea the AI's are stupid when I try to play WR
