Is suppressing fire usefull?
Title. I try to use it but most of the time, I could deal with the situation with an assault rile shooting the ennemies directly. Is there situation you guys thinks "Oh, i'm gonna need the supressing fire here" and pick the HMG? The only situation i've met it supressing fire throug curtains in a room.

Only in rare cases, i personaly just toss smoke onto MG position (my own), then open doors/blow up walls and just start supressive trough smoke, this is efficient tactic on some maps to clear some spots, since enemy needs to see you to start cover fire
Also in this case supressive effect bost us less handy since if enemy supressed they crouch under cover wich increases their surviviability

As about curtains - i use slaps, manual or just toss He/flash/stinger to open window & left not directly exposed to windows

Blind fire through smoke screen is so useful that it actually breaks the game in my opinion. AI needs to be smarter. They should take cover when detecting smoke, or just blindfire through it themselfes.

This. I think the AI shouldn't just blindly fire through it at the beginning as your team hasn't made themselves a threat to the AI yet. If the level opens up with smokes before any gunfire happens or the enemy is alerted to your team's presence, the AI should act more curious and suspicious, not aggressive or doing desperate acts because they're not in mortal danger yet. It's when the Suppression through the smoke for the first time begins is when they should scramble for cover and try to suppress you back.

The only reason for them not shoot at smokes wich i see is 1 - if they know that HVT where abducted and might be in it, or 2 - if you have language skill and you yell "♥♥♥♥ i droped smoke nade accidentaly" so they will think it's just one of our own silly trops (still may trigger investigation, or if set to none actual fire)
Suppression works if you need to keep people from coming out of a certain area while the rest of the element maneuvers. It has limited uses, but sometimes if a door is open and you know there's 80 hostiles on site, it's worth it to suppress the doorway so the rest of the team can watch other angles while they advance.

Since smoke serves to mask movement, shooting through it makes sense. The very presence of smoke grenades, imo, would alert people and be a threat.

Smoke is OP, you can hide whole armies in them
Even mission "surrounded" is easy AF just by making an path of smokes and moving trough it untouched

Yep, that's why I always have my Support and/or Marksman equipped with smokes. They can get set up in great spots behind cover before the insurgents can even engage.
If you see a large open area with (potentially) multiple targets in it - find a position from which MG could shoot that entire place - drop smoke in front of it - tell your unit to move there - place suppression marker the way possible targets be in red cone. You can also move suppression icon in realtime to change size and spread of bullets.

Or just spam whole place with grenades:steamhappy:

While smoke with suppressing fire is the safest. I have used it effectively at times. It does in fact suppress.
