I was very surprised and disappointed when I learnt that unlocks persist across squads. What is the point of different squads if the unlocks don't reset?
Anyway, because every generated mission as well as campaign or tour of duty (which are also generated for the most part) mission will count as a separate one, you have access to infinity stars souls, just go for the lowest difficulty small rooms eliminations only in the generator if you need many starts fast.
Go for tours of duty if it's become stale.
That's the issue. They want to NOT be able to have all their stars carry over, which I kinda understand. But once you start adding in mod-squads, it starts to become a breath of fresh air to be able to buy a few items per squad to get started.
I do think an option would be REALLY nice to have progression separated for each squad, that way it feels a LITTLE more like each squad is earning it's keep, though I guess you could manually just track how many stars each team has access to by hand....though when you've got 30+ squads that can be a bit of a nightmare lol.
And there is already 3 progression system that are squad based, BP, (which can be used not only for weapons but also for soldiers upgrades), soldiers xp, squad xp (and tied up doctrines). There is little points to separate stats.
