Other question: How do I stop enemies from leaving an area? I'd like them to stay indoors even if they hear gunfire.

2. If the mission objective is "Hostage Rescue", you complete the mission by either rescuing all hostages OR killing all enemies (optional). If all enemies are dead, there's no threat in leading the hostages to the extraction point anymore, so it counts as a win. If the objective is "Stop The Execution", you have to both keep all hostages alive AND kill all enemies.

4. Setting the "chance to investigate" to 0 should work. You can also set "chance to ambush" to 0 to be sure.
