Malware detection, guessing false positive
Malwarebytes flagged doorkickers2.exe as "Generic.Malware.AI.DDS".

https://www.malwarebytes.com/blog/detections/generic-malware-ai-dds

I'm guessing it was a false positive (especially since it was apparently detected by their "AI"), but thought I'd mention it.

(rant incoming since this comes up from time to time, just want to have this reply available for future reference. My issue is with the antivirus companies, not yourself)

Thanks for letting us know. Since we've gotten false positives before, we scan our executables with https://www.virustotal.com/ , which scans them with 70-something different antiviruses.
The current executables are ok with all of them.

Once in a while, a new antivirus pops up (or new versions of) that is hyper enthusiastic about finding malware. I assume it's because they want to justify their existence and you paying for their software.

If you google it, you can find similar problems for almost any game in existence. Just try it. For example "GTA5 / Witcher / Diablo4 trojan". Google that for ANY game, it's there.
This of course hurts small developers like us much more than it hurts large ones.

It's wise to take a double look whenever you get a detection, they might be right eventually. But if an antivirus keeps giving false positives (more so, for executables that have been the same for over a year, used by hundreds of thousands of users, as is the case for DK2), maybe you should reconsider using it, because it's a s h i t t y antivirus.

Generic-malware means your av detected something it doesn't know anything about. Since Door Kickers 2 had a small update today, it is definitely a false positive.

That would make sense.

Appreciate the lengthy response.

The "it was detected by AI", in this case, made it sound especially dubious.
