There is frequently lighting near outside fuseboxes, so the icon turns red because you're near that light, which would make you visible to anyone looking in that direction.
I hear of players just having the NVG's on all of the time regardless of day or night
Exactly. No need to manage NVG.
NVGs will only decrease ur FOV during night ops
i would just rush PVS-31s and keep the NVGS on at all times tbh
the PVS-14 is free but it also has a noticeable speed debuff (-3% move, -2% turn)
Thanks for the reply =) Is there a resource that shows all these hidden modifiers for the equipment?
It does but it's doubtful that you'll notice. Nor is it worth the effort of changing them out. (The top tier NVG that is)
They flip it up so the goggles don't affect the FOV (90deg, 0.6m peripheral vs 70deg, 0.42m) IIRC.
Its weight harms, but only 1% of turn speed. Tribial IMO.
From my quick test, -30% needs more 100-200ms to turn 90deg, but only 1% is hard to be aware of.
If you want to take it off by aesthetic reasons, or are greedy to get every single marginal benefit, so you can. But I don't.
The directory also has all of the vanilla equipment.
Nice! Thanks
