Blow doors with GL?
Will it be possible later to blow up doors with a grenade launcher?
I saw a flimsy door and figured i'd shoot it out with my GL lad so i could massively increase my boys' view in their current position but it didn't really do anything.

I was thinking the same thing myself, reading a discussion with one of you guys. We'll see what can be done.

On one hand will be interesting, on the other end, lower the need of breaching charges, no more vulnerability of the trooper when placing the charge and no time spent placing the charge. However, loading the grenade and aiming will require time but surely less than placing a breaching charge.

It's the question realism vs gameplay.

Maybe add a "penalty": larger blast radius of the grenade. So the player should evaluate the consequences: faster "breach" or more secure breach with less collateral damages?

Well to be fair i've only had one or two instances so far where it felt safer and more reliable than using any of the breaching options (door/wall charge, flashes etc).
90% of the indoor situations would just be flat out dangerous considering you have just as much of a blast on your side, although an extra penalty might balance this out, i'm not sure yet.

Exactly, grenade breaching indoor is a nightmare: sharpnels everywhere... But from the outside...

Also grenades are louder that breaching charges.

I'm sure that Devs will find a balance...

PS: I'm a grenade fan. In XCom 2, are awesome for opening a passage or making collapse 2 floors of a building and kill an alien by fall...

One great example of door breaching with a GL is the Embassy imho. I tried setting up a sniper in the first hallway, behind the sandbags, with a GL breaching the blocked door of the circular room. Well, nothing happened !

Anyone remember the Gauss Cannon in the original UFO / XCOM back in 94? Explosive bullets to level up the map?

I mis-remembered. It's the Heavy Cannon and Auto-Cannon I had in mind:

An idea for a futuristic DK2 DLC with Mechs?

Into the breach and Battletech. As far as I know. But they are turn based.
