Tips & Tricks
More usefuls tips and trics will be added here. Feel free to suggest them. Thanks.

1) Aiming
  • Right Click Drag - Simple Aimpoint (Yellow Arrows), Look this way for a couple of steps.
  • Add CTRL -> Strafe (Blue Arrows). Walk while looking at a particular angle, valid till canceled by another order
  • Add SHIFT -> Slice the Pie (Purple Arrows) Walk along the path while turning to face the exact point of the arrow. Valid till canceled by another order.

2) "Ctrl-Click assigns a sync order to a particular troop or waypoint, and he syncs with those that are setup the same. You can use this to keep a formation or clear an area in sync with other troops. This way no one goes ahead of his buddy - even if they are on opposite walls of a large room. More sync options and experiments might come in the future - but let us know how useful you find this."

3) Edit a path without deleting subsequent path: position the cursor over the starting point of the new path, drag the path, draw the new path, conclude the new section rejoining the previous path.

4) How permadeath works?
Anyone dead or wounded in Single Missions or RMG is healed at mission end (SP or Coop).

Anyone dead in campaigns stays dead for the duration of the campaign. If the campaign is played in the optional Iron Man mode, they get replaced with fresh recruits after campaign end. If you're playing non-Iron Man, regular mode, they simply get revived.

If the campaign has reinforcements (Tour of Duty does), they replace dead troopers in Iron Man, or they revive some of the dead ones in non Iron-Man.

Also keep in mind that in non-Iron Man campaigns you can simply restart missions as much as you want, if you're not happy with the results.

Frag Grenades can be thrown to clear out curtain-covered windows from range, much like a slap charge can.

(Hopefully, that's intended/okay behavior, and not a useful bug about to be patched out because I mentioned it :birder:)

There are thin, three-segmented 'gates' in the game(seemingly used to represent garage doors or other vehicle-related gates). If a wall breach charge is used on these, the entire gate will be cleared away, instead of leaving the normal door-size hole.

Not just frags. Currently, all grenades except smoke will clear out curtains.

use the wall charges, they are super helpful and can get you into a room while flanking the enemy as u don't have to use the conventional door. also the explosion from the wall charge will kill or stun enemies leaving them vulnerable to ur assaulters. on the other hand, you can use the wall charges to provide a distraction and lure enemies away.

You can Fake Breach a locked door to lure enemies too. To do it, select Manual Breach, cancel it midway and fall back from the door. The OPFOR don't appreciate you making a racket, and will come to party, but it means THEY'RE crossing the Fatal Funnel, not you.

EDIT

Doing this also means the enemy very considerately unlocks and opens the door for you! This saves the Taxpayers the expense of lots of Slap Charges and Detonators.

1) Tips
  • Crouching behind cover and throwing a grenade can you deal with blind firing enemies without having to maneuver or give up a good position.
  • The grenade target can be dragged off the map if need be to tell the trooper throwing it to throw it extra hard for a better bounce of a wall or doorframe.
  • You can cancel a throw grenade order after the grenade has been thrown to make the trooper move ASAP instead of waiting for the grenade to go off.
  • As some people stated any grenade except smoke grenades can be used to clear curtains, this also works for opening doors at a distance, even with flash grenades so long as the grenade lands right on the door, basicly touching. (also not sure if it's intended behaviour or not for flash grenades) <<< Patched (As of 0.9, Stingers & Flashbangs no longer open doors, Frags still do, not sure about curtains)

2) Tactics
  • Keeping the Ranger's explosive's specialist in front of any door you open that has enough space inside to let you nade it will let you quickly deal with a plethora of enemies much faster and safer than engaging them in a straight up firefight aswell as avoiding the risks involved with staying put long enough to throw a frag, flash etc.
  • Giving Marksmen the wall breaching charge lets them open up new fields of fire from a far enough distance to give them an upper hand in the ensuing firefight.
  • The Wall Breaching Charge can be used to create a trap for reinforcing enemies by placing it on a wall to a room somewhere along the reinforcement route. Once they open the door the to reinforce their comrades you detonate it, killing a few before they get the chance to even get visual on you.

Spy camera can be used to peek around corners safely and doesn't have to be used on doors. Useful when you are running low on grenades and you don't want to waste it by blind throwing it into an empty room.

If you have two control points placed too close together, click on the operator whose path you want to edit and it will prioritize that path so you can click on that control point.

Also, pressing [TAB] will alternate path and operator selection when the mouse is over two or more paths/operators.

Use the all clear command on your grenade throws. This will stop your rangers from throwing grenades while taking fire.

Also works with any action like reloading or switching weapon.

if u want to flash/nade a room, dont stay directly in front of the door u can choose a position near the door on the wall. So one operator can throw the flash/nade around the corner without seen/shot.
USE THE HAMMER!! Dont go always for slapcharges the the hammer is a really fast and usefull item

Sounds simple but I only just started using this, you can crouch walk directly underneath a window to avoid detection from the other side provided the enemy isn't within about 1-2m of the window.
Holo have better stats than laser at all ranges (which is not obvious because you would expect laser to have better aim time)
