If you didn't get them all, then you get one of the 12 bad ending variants, based on your Sexuality and how well (or bad) you treated Faye.
The bad ending variants are very similar, same animations for the most part but changed dialogue/events.
The true endings are entirely different per ending, with different music for each and a CG showing some of the events, etc.
HentaiWriter just helped narrow down the conditions a lot though. In particular I didn't expect Faye to be irrelevant if you get all of the fragments and gold databanks.
One mystery we'll probably get to solve soon is where the number of 21 comes from. There's 8 ideals which includes Sexuality, so an easy guess is that Sexuality is counted separate and that for the other 7 there's 3 different endings each, using Sexuality to determine which. If so, it's most likely this Sexuality determinant considers whether it's a large negative, close to 0, or a large positive.
I just got ending 16 (I think) with the highest ideal being Pacifism and -13 Sexuality which I would imagine is largely negative. If this guess is accurate, the endings might be sequenced in order. When I get to do another run later I'll aim for focusing on Justice and negative Sexuality, to see if that's ending 1.
The sexuality thresholds are:
-1 or less = negative
0-100 = neutral
100+ positive
Wanted to at least make that part clear, since there's a lot of secrets in this game that *aren't* very clear on how to get them that should be fun for people who like discovering that stuff, to discover.
Like how to defeat the Fire Boss without even having to fight him, for instance.
This is all accurate.
100+ for positive... I didn't play for it (obviously, for -13!) but I'm wondering how to get that much! Maybe choices can give a bunch. If it takes a bit of effort to get that much then doing it 7 times could be tricky.
Which doesnt look like a good ending, like at all. Not even a satisfying one. i was left sitting on my chair with a big old WTF on my face.
Same here to be honest!! It was mostly text at the bottom of a black screen, until a single CG without any characters in it appeared for the last few messages, and the story of the ending was practically an existential crisis lol. It was also entirely unvoiced.
I'm somewhat expecting the high-Sexuality endings will be more entertaining!
So can you try and form a new hypothesis based off what info we were given for the bad endings like you did for the good endings? Cause now we know the variables that influence it.
And picking up from what was last said, so does that mean the endings are something like this (for the true endings)
#1 (-) Sexuality / Justice
#2 neutral sexuality / Justice
#3 (+) Sexuality / Justice
# (-) Sexuality /Kindness
etc and so forth going down the list of the 7 other stats
At the moment i'm thinking it is something like
negative/neutral/positive sexuality (3) + good treatment/bad treatment (2) but then that only adds up to 6 endings but it was stated that there were 12. Is there an apathetic way of treating Faye? But then that only adds up to 9...so what else could be influencing it? The number of golden databanks and fragments obtained?
Also, to @HentaiWriter , so 21 true endings and 12 bad, so does that mean the total is 33 endings? Or are there good/neutral endings in between true and bad endings?
All the "true" endings are considered "canon" endings, but that doesn't mean they're good endings, either.
That ending is one of the more brutal ones; the reason the CG didn't show up until very late into the ending, was to avoid spoiling what happens in the ending. Most of the endings have the CG show up pretty early.
Voicework will be in for all endings as fast as we can, of course.
The "true" endings are completely different from one another, a different CG for each, different music, completely different plotlines.
The "bad ending" has 12 variants, it's basically just somewhat different dialogue with the same animation for those ones.
It isn't. I just finished a run with Justice being my highest stat and sexuality being negative and got ending #7 and then i rebooted before the WREN fight and went to go let my character "score" with enemies. I brought my sexuality stat up to 20+ and got ending #8. I then did the same thing but this time grinding my sexuality up to 106 and beat the final boss a 3rd time, and i thought i'd get ending #9 but instead, it repeated #8. So what happened @HentaiWriter ? Didn't you say the thresholds were
The listed thresholds appear to be inaccurate. I got ending 8 with 900+ in kindness/sexuality (via cheating), so 8 is clearly the top threshold of those stats. If you received 7 with negative stat, it would imply there is no ending for kindness/neutral.
If I have more time later on I may tinker around with setting the stats to specified values to find out where things change, but I really don't want to sit through those QTEs that many times.
Whoa, wait, you got #8 with kindness instead of justice? The one titled "Justice's Apprentice" or something like that? At first i thought you typo-ed that word kindness, but you typed it twice.
