At the same time try reinstalling the EA app, to see if the game was linked to it from steam, hope I was able to help :D
If the EA App is closed, Battlelog will show you this message asking to install origin.
Let me tell you how I'm doing it and how can you do it as well. Your game can open up without Steam but I usually run Steam... once you hit play, you get moved onto "THAT PAGE" we all know and love.... then on that page you chose what you like to play, Campaign (SP) or Multiplayer. You click on any of those and if your EA Games launcher isn't open it will suggest you to do so, which you do and then game should run nwithout any problems. That is if you installed punk buster can't remember if game does it by itself but otherwise you need to instal pbsetup (newest version) and add BF Hardline to your games from that moment you should be facing any issues
