What kind of answer are you honestly expecting?
My answer to your question would be a resounding ♥♥♥♥ YEAH WHATCHU TALKING ABOUT? That said, this game's regularly on sale for like 3 bucks, even if you won't dig it for some reason, it's not that big a deal.
You're asking on a BF1 forum asking BF1 players if BF1 is worth it...
BF1 is my first battlefield game and I don't think I'm really interested in buying other BF games, but it's a really good game.
One thing to be aware of are the guns' recoil since it's kinda hard to predict where a gun's bullets are going when aiming.
Also be prepared to die alot when respawning. You may overcome it. I was about to quit this game but after 15 hours I'm okay at the game and it's fun.
BF5 - best gunplay and movement of the series, good balance for most part, not so good immersion and character design, some maps are terrible
I think either one of those is better overall than BF2042 but it has it's strengths
+ Dope soundesign as always
+ Most visceral and brutal atmosphere in all BF games
+ Graphically, it aged like a champ, still one of the best looking BF and MP games
+ Even if you suck, the above points will make you stay anyway
+ Super satisfying gunplay if you like bolt action rifles and carbines
+ Vehicles are impactful for real when you know your sh!t
+ Medic class is loved at last
+ Maps are plenty and surprisingly varied
+ Campaign is short but nice
BF1 is mostly an interactive spectacle to get your rush of adrenaline.
Perhaps not the best product to boss your k/d ratio because of the weird weapons balancing and small magazine size overall, but since every bullet counts you wont be spraying as in CoD.
I sincerely think that anyone familiar with warfare multiplayer FPS these days should give this anomaly of a game a go, even briefly. This is a breathtaking love letter, a risky and ambitious bet, and it left a footprint in the industry as a reminder that any franchise can comeback when the passion and dedication is there. It is a well crafted and memorable experience that makes you question the quality of every other games in the business.
