EA app won't Install. Error Code: INST-14-1618. SOLVED.

The EA App tries to install (directly from the installer from the website) but gives the error code: INST-14-1618. I have windows 11 and looked at the min/max requirements for the game and it says "Windows 10 or higher"...I would assume that includes Windows 11...? lol

Does anyone else have this issue or know how to fix this? Any advice or info is much appreciated :)

You could try to install the EA app separately by going to EA website an installing it. Once open or installed try installing the game once more.

I am downloading the EA app installer from the EA website and when I install it directly, without launching the game from steam, I get the error above.

When I launch the game via steam, it loads the same EA app installer and gives me the same error code.

Tried that and it still doesn't work. Sorry guys. This is the only time this has ever happened. All my other apps and games work so I guess I'll just avoid EA games.

That is the universal "Go-To" work around and that doesn't work for me unfortunately.

I contacted EA and they said if I have the INST-14-1618 error then that means I have to repair my Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables....but I cannot do that because Windows Installer is constantly running on my pc and I can't stop it or end the task via task manager.

I contacted Microsoft about this and they said I have to reinstall windows 11.

I'll keep this thread updated if anyone else has this issue.

PROBLEM SOLVED: Reinstall Windows 11...

Step 1: In search bar of your PC search "Reset this pc"

Step 1: Click on "Reset This PC"

Step 3: Reset PC > Keep My Files > Local Reinstall > Change Settings > Restore Preinstalled Apps? Yes > Download Windows? No > Confirm

Step 4: Select Next > Reset

Let your computer do it's thing and you should be good to go.

If you are still having this issue, it was suggested to reinstall windows the same way as previously except in step 3 you select "Remove Everything" instead of "Keep My Files". And when you go to "Change Settings" the ONLY option that should be selected as "Yes" should be "Delete workplace resources?". And then continue to step 4.

Hope this helps anyone in need. Cheers to our united hatred for EA to solve problems :D
