What region are you playing in?
But it feels like I am playing call of duty or some fast twitch shooter.
Everyone seems to have the OP guns or just seems to be faster and better.
Not much I can do.
The cheaters are all over the DICE servers. One was invisible except for the weapon.
Another had super speed and aimbot and killed everybody with that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ overpowered MG that everyone uses.
Also always use the server browser (try to tweak the filters) and keep in mind that the afternoon (EU timezone) is peak chinese hour. They are notorious for their cheating, sweatlording, team stacking and not understanding a word of english so you don't usually have a good time playing with them.
MGs beat me at range when I am sniper behind sniper shield. What the ♥♥♥♥?
Shotgun beats me at range when I use pistol and zoom for headshots.
I didn't sign up for some Red Orchestra simulator.
Dying is way too fast. Always some dumb weapon like Hellriegel or w/e killing me before I can even process and react.
Why is this game so fast and how do people even play?
I must be getting old.
But honestly I'd suggest ditching the sniper shield, it's one of those things that sounds good but can end up being a detriment.
I'd also suggest learning to be comfortable hipfiring pistols, they're very, very capable and it allows you to shuffle a little better and give you a bit better odds against shotgunners.
If you're still using the 1911, try to train yourself to not fire as fast as the gun lets you unless you're practically touching whoever you're shooting at, as tempting as it is to just spam fire at someone across a room. I absolutely swear by the 1911 nowadays, in many cases it might as well be my primary instead. But, if you find it's not your style, consider giving some of the revolver secondaries, like the Bodeo for Scout, a go. They'll two-shot at closer ranges and allow you to get away with some silly things once you're confident in them.
You might also try picking up Medic if you like fighting at range, the first rifle may be awkward to use at first for a newcomer but they do have access to what are essentially the designated marksman rifles of the game, and their primaries across the board allow them to perform well at most ranges. Lastly, as much as people might not want to give up offensive grenades, smoke grenades are capable of being both a life-saver and a game-changer, and they recharge quick enough that you never have to feel like you're wasting one, as you'll get another right around when the first one expires. It's worth considering taking them, if not only so you can actually walk through an area without getting gunned down by the aforementioned bipodded LMGs.
Sniper has a fast bullet velocity and fast rof
The support weapon works fine
Cool, I would prefer to actually play the game and not be constantly respawning because 6 year sweaty veterans have godlike aim.
I don't remember Battlefield 1942 be this punishing.
I played since launch and the first weeks were awful, i died a lot and felt like the damage i made was never enough to kill.
But then it gets better, you are going to become a lot better and began to play like the others, at the same rythm of more hardcore players. In my case, i love the game and its atmosphere and that motivated me to get out and and just do my best to try to kill, ignoring my K/D score and taking objectives and helping allies, i make sure to aid others marking the enemy with "Q".
Now the thing is that weapons like hellriegel are very used, because they are the closest thing most modern warfare fps players like to use to feel the same modern weapons games works. Sadly most people play with this, but still, you can kill them with less handicaped weapons when you are used to them.
My recomendation, dont play assault class and explorer class yet, play medic, heal and revive people and try to kill when you have the chance, try to unlock the mondragon rifles, they are very good for all kind of players, and when you feel you have improved, then try other classes and you are going to notice the improvement.
Good luck! (sorry my bad english, its not my native language)
